About this Opportunity:

Our team is seeking a well-rounded individual who has a keen interest in learning about accounting and finance. This individual will be working with the cost accounting team as well as the financial planning & analysis team to process and report the financial statements for various Celestica customers. The ideal candidate should be enrolled in an accounting or finance program and have a basic understanding of corporate accounting policies.

  • Self-motivated to work and learn. Continually takes on initiatives and thinks of creative solutions

  • Strong analytical skills; ability to process numbers quickly and effectively in order to draw informative conclusions

  • Interpersonal skills; Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with a variety of teams, internal/external to Finance

  • Ability to multi-task and organize workloads to work with tight deadlines

  • Attention to detail

  • Basic knowledge of finance/accounting

  • Understands and can apply corporate accounting policies

  • Knowledge of computer applications such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite and multiple business applications

  • Advanced knowledge of Excel is preferred including the ability to create spreadsheet macros and use excel functions

  • Experience with SAP would be an asset

Activities:

  • Working with the cost accounting team and financial planning & analysis team to process and report financial statements for various Celestica customers

  • Preparation and maintenance of files necessary to forecast customer financials

  • Weekly tracking and presentation of customer revenues and expenses, including labour, freight, and production

  • Manage customer finances, including inventory, AR and AP

  • Implementation of cost accounting methods to close customer P&L statements and balance sheets monthly, quarterly and yearly

  • Daily use of SAP, Microsoft Excel, and Longview for Excel

  • Participation in the site Annual Physical Inventory audit

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments.

  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data

  • Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc).

Education: Enrolled in a formal University or College Internship or Co-op program. Completing 3rd year in a 4-year program or 4th year in a 5-year program in Accounting or Finance.
