About the Role

Lead the Maintenance function by providing both a reactive and pro-active, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. Increase the site operational effectiveness, improve on project delivery, and manage and implement improvement plans driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. #LI-Onsite

Your Responsibilities

• Develop, implement and manage key performance indicators (KPI’s) for the department.

• Manage to ensure KPI’s are met by working to the overall plan, including preparing monthly reporting, departmental Overtime

• Develop a Preventative Maintenance schedule and plan, ensuring the schedule is carried out, plan missed maintenance activities, and lead the team to deliver effectively

• Ensure that designated buildings, plant and facilities are fit for purpose and to provide proactive support/solutions when required

• Provide technical expertise to the team, Create, promote and encourage teamwork among maintenance staff and with other internal and external personnel.

• Identify and deploy the technical skill sets, resource levels and systems to deliver projects, including the engagement of external resources as required

• Ensure that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output

• Manage and coordinate contractors on site as required to ensure they meet legal and company requirements

• Lead, Manage, coach, and develop a high performing Maintenance team that meets agreed objectives and which delivers best practice results, added value and continuous improvements

• Set department objectives/KPI’s and review and assess ongoing performance of direct reports

• Report on achievement of targets and identify any actions required

• Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each member of the team understands the standards and behaviors expected of them

• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operational performance

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimal performance

• Work collaboratively, negotiate and engage with key stakeholders to facilitate delivery and compliance with the maintenance strategy

• Liaise and communicate with other departments, customers, suppliers and other service providers

• Keep up to date on technical data, products and techniques (automation, electronics, pneumatics, machine repair).

• Assist in defining equipment specifications, preparing cost estimates, planning and forecasting costs of new projects, making recommendations and providing technical support, as required

• Provide technical information on repair/maintenance/improvement projects to other departments and management as required

• Monitor inventory of spare parts, approve requisitions for new spare parts, as required.

• Ensure each employee receives proper instruction and safety training for each job assigned prior to being required to perform the job

• Provide necessary support for all health, safety and environmental programs to ensure compliance with performance standards and legislative requirements

• Maintain housekeeping standards and ensure team members are working within company policies and guidelines

• Responsible to ensure company safety policies are adhered to and safe work habits are utilized by all department personnel, visitors, and contractors

Who we are looking for

Your preferred qualifications

• Min of 5 years’ experience as a Maintenance Manager in a manufacturing environment, preferably automotive

• Recognized technical trade certificate millwright/electrician from either a technical college and apprenticeship

• Strong leadership abilities, excellent interpersonal skills, effective communication skills and strong technical abilities

• Excellent organizational and follow up skills

• Competent in problem solving, team building, planning and decision making

• Is resilient, optimistic and open to change

• Embraces personal challenge

• Anticipates and overcomes obstacles

• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office

• AODA Training
