Position Overview

The role of the Project Planner is to manage the manufacturing of their project(s) through both Newington campuses. The Project Planner regularly interfaces with PM and Design to ensure appropriate manufacturing documentation is available when needed. The Project Planner maintains Status Reports for each project and assigns the cable and optical units to specific segments within the project. Additionally, the Project Planner is focused on Ready to Load and Billing Milestones deliverables for their project.

Responsibilities

  • Creates and maintains excellent project Status Reports.

  • Tracks and reports on the life cycle of a project through Manufacturing.

  • Works with Supply Chain to initiate fiber orders and provide set length requirements.

  • Issues Manufacturing Instructions to the Production Schedulers for all manufacturing processes.

  • Interfaces with Project Management daily / weekly to discuss project risks and changes.

  • Communicates and coordinates with teammates, colleagues, and management to drive on-time manufacturing deliverables for the respective project.

  • Schedules and attends meetings with Marine Services, Project Management and Design to structure manufacturing documentation need dates. Works with Stakeholders to drive to resolution pending delays.

  • Reviews ERP Demand for accuracy.

  • Escalates issues to Management and Master Planning. Proactively pursues issue resolution by working with Stakeholders, scheduling meetings and proposing solutions.

  • This position requires a high degree of integrity and the ability to drive for world-class product.

    Qualifications

  • 8 years manufacturing experience strongly preferred.

  • Bachelor’s degree required or combination of equivalent experience and education.

  • 5 years Production Planning / Supply Chain Management experience required – equivalent manufacturing experience may be considered in lieu of Planning experience.

  • Strong technical writing, typing, organizational and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications required – Advanced knowledge in Excel is strongly recommended.

  • Ability to drive teamwork in cross-functional disciplines with peers and Management.

  • Ability to identify business risks and escalate with solutions as necessary.

  • Proficiency and demonstrated ability to make independent, informed decisions.

  • Experience with LEAN Manufacturing principles recommended.

  • Travel less than 10%
