Responsibilities and Duties: (*Indicates an Essential Function)

• Repairs, installs, and inspects electronic systems and devices as directed through verbal or written directions, diagrams, drawings, or specifications.

• Troubleshoots process and/or product issues with emphasis on test area operations. This includes troubleshooting process problems and documenting corrective actions.

• Calibrates electronic instrumentation and sensing equipment used to monitor cable manufacturing processes.

• Installs and repairs the camera, paging, and speaker systems throughout the facility.

• Ensures all database information and reporting is both timely and accurate.

• Ability to work with other trades, manufacturing personnel, engineers, and supervisory personnel to develop and implement changes to electronic components and modify operation of process control equipment.

• Properly completes maintenance records and calibration records on paper and in a variety of computer systems.

• Ability to read and understand maintenance manuals, work instructions, schematics, and blueprints.

• Determines material or replacement needs and a logical method for repair; takes appropriate action to meet those needs and makes repairs.

• Safely operates various hand and power tools and powered industrial equipment such as forklifts, aerial lifts, and pallet jacks.

• Works as a team player to facilitate the objectives of the Maintenance Department.

• Follows safety guidelines (PPE, etc.) and demonstrates safe work practices and plant safety rules, including Lockout/Tagout and NFPA 70e

• Responds to multiple assignments in a timely and efficient manner.

• Overtime may be required, based on business need; regular attendance required.

• Other duties as assigned.

  Qualifications:

• An Associate degree in electronic technology, automation experience preferred.

• At least 5 years of experience troubleshooting industrial electronic equipment using scopes, meters, and other types of electronic test equipment. Items to include temperature, pressure, proximity, and level sensors along with rotary encoders.

• Ability to use mechanical and electrical measuring equipment (ex. micrometers, calipers, multi-meter, etc.).

• Detailed and methodical approach to problem solving.

• Experience with electronic instrument calibration programs and using NIST standards for calibrations.

• Ability to work with minimal supervision; self-directed.

• Possess the ability to react to changes of responsibility throughout the shift. Must have the flexibility to respond to multiple assignments.

• Math skills to include addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division. Ability to compute rate, ratio and percent.

• Must be willing to work any shift as needed, including weekends.

• Ability to speak, read, and write English fluently.

• Computer skills, including familiarization with Microsoft Office is strongly preferred.

• Ability to solder and terminate various types of common electrical connectors (J-STD preferred).

  While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:

• Wear the proper personal protective equipment for each task, including, but not limited to, safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, gloves, dust mask, etc

• Climb up and down from equipment; climb up and down a ladder and work at heights up to 40’

• Maintain proper balance while working at elevated level

• Regularly lift and/or move 40 pounds. Anything heavier than 40 pounds requires additional assistance

• Ability to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, or handle objects, tools and controls

• Ability to stand, walk, crawl, and climb stairs regularly

• Ability to bend, squat, stoop, kneel or crouch frequently

• Ability to talk and/or hear frequently

• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus

• Ability to work both indoors (regularly) and outdoors (occasionally) in all elements

• 5x2 day shift with additional hours as needed.
