YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

  • Our Intelligent Infrastructure (II) team is growing rapidly to deliver exciting projects in areas such as connected and autonomous vehicles, next generation traffic controls systems, 5G, and digital twins. We are developing our technology capabilities to meet these demands and have a number of opportunities for technology specialists to join our Systems and Infrastructure Group.

  • We are looking for an experienced Technical Consultant to be part of our team and help our clients implement and operate effective technology solutions. This role is a great opportunity to apply your skills and creativity to some of the most interesting challenges in II.

A typical week would include:

  • Collaborating with suppliers and partners to develop solutions to complex technical problems.

  • Designing, implementing, and maintaining networks

  • Deploying and configuring IT systems

  • Planning and delivering testing activities.

  • Working with clients to understand requirements.

  • Producing and maintaining technical documentation

  • Attending technical meetings, creating accurate notes, and managing actions

  • Developing your technical and consultancy skills

  • Professional experience working with technology solutions in a role such as engineer, analyst or consultant.

  • A keen interest in technology and its impact on the world around us

  • Good analytical skills and a proven ability to think creatively to solve problems.

  • A proactive approach and the ability to work efficiently to deliver results.

  • Experience dealing with partners/suppliers and clients/customers. Excellent communications skills, both written and face to face with the ability to work well as part of a team.

  • Expertise in some of the following technical areas:

  • Administration of Windows and/or Linux systems (end user compute and server),

  • Management and monitoring tools such as Check_MK, syslog, Ansible and SCCM

  • IP networking, firewall configuration and cable installation

  • Virtualisation technologies

  • Cloud solutions (preferably Azure)

  • IT service management processes such as ITIL or COBIT

  • A Degree in an engineering, computer science or other technical discipline, or equivalent industry experience and industry qualifications such as CCNA+, CCNP, MCP, MCSA or Azure credentials.
