This position reports to the Director of the Master of Supply Chain Management program. The program is seeking a highly organized person with the ability to work independently building and maintaining relationships with prospective applicants, existing students, alumni, and other stakeholders. The almost ten-year-old program has been highly ranked among its peers, with the most recent ranking at #2 in the country by US News and World Report. The program has about 150 current students as well as 400 alumni all over the country and in several countries around the world.

Posting Summary
Rutgers University-Newark, an urban public research university and anchor institution located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise, is seeking a Sr. Academic Program Coordinator for the Master of Science in Supply Chain Management (MS-SCM) program at Rutgers Business School. Reporting to the Program Director, the Sr. Academic Program Coordinator will support the daily management, development, and growth of the fully online MS-SCM program at Rutgers Business School. This highly-ranked online degree program requires a highly organized person with strong project management skills to work independently, developing and maintaining relationships with students, alumni, faculty, and other stakeholders.This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • Responsible for all aspects of student communication and serves as the initial point of contact for all prospective candidates, existing students, and stakeholders.
  • Develops and executes marketing and outreach plans to recruit new students and communicate the program's prominence to outside stakeholders.
  • Support admissions for the MS-SCM program, which includes planning informational sessions, handling program inquiries, and ensuring the smooth onboarding of new students.
  • Manages day-to-day operations of the MS-SCM program, including data management, completing expense reimbursement requests, and other activities.
  • Monitors student progress toward degree completion, including reporting students' GPAs, sending notifications of academic probation, assisting students with applying for graduation, and certifying students for graduation.
  • Manages events for the Department of Supply Chain Management by coordinating with Rutgers Business School resources, external vendors, and stakeholders.

Consistent with the current application of Rutgers Policy 60.3.22, this position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement. The flexible work arrangements outlined in Rutgers Policy 60.3.22 are part of a pilot program that is effective September 1, 2022 through August 31, 2024. Therefore, there is no guarantee that this flexible work arrangement will continue beyond that date. Flexible work arrangements are not permanent, are subject to change or cancellation and contingent on the employee receiving approval in the FlexWork@RU Application System. Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of program design and execution, coordination, organization, facilitation, report analysis, writing, and promotion/outreach.
  • It also requires a minimum of two of relevant experience, either in university administration or industry experience in supply chain management, excellent project management skills, and good communication skills.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Computer skills must include knowledge of spreadsheets and database applications, web and presentation design, and publishing applications.
  • Must have the ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds and be willing to represent the university and orientation at campus functions, regional meetings, and conferences with continued commitment to the development of the office and program.
  • Must practice open and effective communication with students, faculty, and staff to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a variety of university departments.
  • Some understanding of the online learning environment and video production is necessary.
  • Must be willing to work early, late, or weekend hours.
  • Some knowledge or experience with the field of Supply Chain Management is necessary.
  • While this can be in the form of actual work experience, transferrable knowledge and skills are also beneficial.

Equipment Utilized
  • Proficiency with PC and Mac OS systems. Experience with admissions systems (Salesforce), learning management systems (eCollege and Blackboard), internet advertising (particularly Google AdSense), Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds (marketing material, paraphernalia, brochures, pamphlets, collateral)
