Panasonic North America Project Manager in Newark, New Jersey

Overview

This role involves refining project requirements by collaborating with stakeholders to align with business goals and managing the project intake funnel based on strategic priorities. The position requires coaching technical teams in Agile practices, facilitating Agile ceremonies, and using Waterfall methodologies when appropriate. Effective communication across all levels of the organization and fostering continuous improvement are key responsibilities.

What You'll Get To Do:

Responsibilities:

  • Refine project requirements by collaborating with stakeholders to ensure clarity and alignment with business objectives.

  • Manage the project intake funnel, prioritizing and selecting projects based on strategic goals and resource availability.

  • Coach technical teams on the principles of Agile, helping them to improve cadence, planning, and delivery.

  • Serve as a mentor and coach for Agile practices, facilitating Agile ceremonies such as daily stand-ups, sprint planning, and retrospectives.

  • Utilize Waterfall methodologies for projects where appropriate, ensuring thorough planning, execution, and delivery.

  • Manage project budgets, tracking expenses and ensuring projects stay within financial constraints.

  • Oversee requirements management, ensuring all project requirements are documented, tracked, and met.

  • Implement risk management strategies to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks.

  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, from team members to executive leadership, providing regular updates on project status, risks, and issues.

  • Foster a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging teams to reflect on their processes and make necessary adjustments to enhance performance.

Basic Qualifications:

  • A university degree in business, IT, or a related field is preferred.

  • 3 to 5 years of direct experience in Project Management, Program Management, or similar roles.

  • PMP / ACP Certification

  • Experience with Waterfall project management methodologies.

  • Strong communication (written and verbal) and negotiation skills to effectively communicate with all levels of personnel up to the executive level, both internally and within customer/supplier organizations.

  • Proficiency in MS Office Products including Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Project, Visio, and Word is required.

  • Ability to coordinate with multiple suppliers, subcontractors, and 3rd party vendors is essential.

  • A travel requirement of 25% to various locations in North America to meet with the PMO team or onsite for project execution. During large-scale projects, the percentage could fluctuate.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with significant cultural, organizational, and business process change efforts.

  • Strong project management and process improvement skills and experience with project management tools and/or software.

  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM)

  • Experience with ServiceNow, Jira, Smartsheets, Sharepoint, and Power BI.

  • Financial management skills to support project budgets.

  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.

  • Proactive and effective problem-solving capabilities to handle potentially complex problems and resolve conflicts.

  • Ability to rapidly adapt and respond to frequent changes in environment, priorities, and deadlines.

  • Demonstrated ability to foster an Agile mindset and promote Agile practices within teams and the organization.

The salary range below is just one component of Panasonic Connect's total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives.
