Posting Summary
Rutgers University- Newark (RU-N), an urban public research university and anchor institution, located in Newark, New Jersey, a city of promise is seeking a Laboratory/Technical Assistant, working in the Department of Psychology, School of Arts and Sciences-Newark, provides basic level research, laboratory and/or technical support duties under general guidance and supervision.This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
  • Provides basic level laboratory and/or technical support duties involving the application of scientific research methods and techniques and performs related duties as assigned.
  • May perform other technical support duties in disciplines such as engineering, or information technology.
  • Helps maintain project collaborations.

This position is 100% grant funded.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
Certifications/Licenses

  • Excel competence.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Requires a Bachelor's degree in a scientific/technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and/or relevant laboratory technician or research study experience carrying out research protocols and tests, or other technical work may be substituted for the degree.
Equipment Utilized
  • Regularly uses Microsoft Office Suite, and knows or will learn any and all equipment, software, and specialized materials needed to support the effective and efficient performance of this position.
Physical Demands and Work Environment
  • Laboratory environment.
  • Must comply with all relevant policies and regulations, including safety procedures.
