Cummins Inc. DIESEL TECHNICIAN in Newark, New Jersey

DESCRIPTION

We are looking for a talented Diesel Technician to join our team specializing in engine repairs for our Distribution Business in Kearny, NJ.

In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

· Complete repairs on engine products in a service shop

· Perform maintenance/repairs utilizing diagnostic tools.

· Maintain detailed records of serviced vehicles.

· Adhere to Cummins Health, Safety & Environmental policies.

· Ongoing development/certifications on new and existing Cummins products

· Maintain own tools.

RESPONSIBILITIES

In order to be successful in this role you will need the following:

(Intermediate):

· Completes complex internal engine repairs.

· Performs engine overhauls with limited direct supervision.

(Advanced):

· Ability to troubleshoot with limited/no support from diagnostic tools

· Larger more complicated engine rebuilds.

· Mentor junior technicians including technical support and documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Licenses, Certifications

Apprentice Trained Engine Technician (Preferred)

Vocational diploma from relevant technical institution

Locally valid driving permit (Preferred)

This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.

Experience

Minimal level of work shop experience required

Basic level knowledge of and/or experience with engine products

This is a union branch and a union role. Candidate will have to join the union. This is a 1 st shift position, 7AM – 3:30PM but the shift is subject to change based on business needs. Must also be available to work 2 nd Shift - 3:30PM-12AM shift.

  • This position does not require any Department of Transportation (DOT) related pre-screenings
