At United, we fly into airports around the entire world. And we need a whole team of people to keep things running in tip-top shape! From the exceptional service at the check-in counter to the departure gate, and even behind the scenes making sure your checked bags arrive with you, our Airport Operations team keeps operations at our airports running smoothly every single day.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for planning and overseeing projects to ensure they are completed in a timely fashion among different groups and within budget. Plan and designate project resources, logistics, supervise progress and keep stakeholders advised

  • Responsible for planning and overseeing airport ops projects and initiatives that help drive performance, customer satisfaction, and employee engagement

  • Thinks creatively and promotes creativity and team work in order to execute on our hub goals; monitors progress and keeps stakeholders advised

  • Ensures that all projects are completed as assigned on-time, to specifications, with accuracy, efficiency and within budget

  • Develops and manages relationship with collaborators for success

  • Develops detailed project plan to monitor progress of all projects

  • Addresses questions, concerns and/or complaints throughout the project Evaluates projects and provides recommendations to address issues and opportunities for improvement

  • Seeks out feedback from frontline employees and leadership and successfully promotes the business case for successful change management

  • Creates and maintains comprehensive project documentation

  • Develops spreadsheets, diagrams and process maps to document needs

  • Collaborates with organizational leadership to support organizational objectives.

  • Interacts clearly, constructively and positively with all departments to ensure projects are completed effectively and with minimal disruption to planned events

  • Acts as a liaison between the company, customers and vendors

  • Attend conferences and training as required to maintain proficiency

  • Develops comprehensive project plans to be share with all collaborators. Ensures compliance with federal, state, local, industry, contractual and company policies

Qualifications

What’s needed to succeed (Minimum Qualifications):

  • High school diploma or equivalent

  • Five years of aviation/airport operations experience

  • At least three years of operations supervisor or greater experience

  • Intermediate experience in Microsoft Office Suite, including MS Excel and web database reporting

  • Ability to present analytical information effectively

  • In-depth knowledge of Ramp operations, practices and landscape

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail

  • Strong time management skills with ability to meet deadlines

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Effectively engages with leadership at all levels of the organization with a high degree of professionalism while maintaining confidentiality

  • Ability to lead and empower

  • Strong problem solving skills and commitment to excellence

  • Must be detail oriented, with ability to optimally review extensive amounts of information along with managing daily challenges

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship

  • Successful completion of interview required to meet job qualification

  • Reliable, punctual attendance is a crucial function of the position
