DEPARTMENT PURPOSE – ANALYTICS & INSIGHTS

POSITION PURPOSE – SENIOR ANALYST OF ANALYTICS:
Vail Resorts is looking to hire a Senior Analyst, Adavance Commitment Analytics. The team leverages Vail Resorts’ proprietary data related to the Season Pass business (Epic Pass) to generate insights about guest behavior that drive value for the enterprise. The team informs strategic decisions across the company and is a key partner to many stakeholders, including Pass Marketing and Finance. This role is responsible for strategic and financial analyses to support Pass growth strategies (both domestic and international), forecasting, and performance insights.
In this role you will be required to analyze large data sets and provide insights with actionable and concise recommendations. You will also be expected to demonstrate learning agility and drive to take on new topics or projects.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
[Analysis & Reporting] Design and develop reporting for executive and Marketing stakeholders. Leverage reporting to generate business performance insights.
[Budgeting & Forecasting] Leverage historical performance, guest insights, and external market trends to set expectations for the Season Pass business.
[Strategic Analysis] Analyze internal and external data to support strategic planning.
[Presentation] Communicate conclusions and recommendations in a clear, concise fashion to stakeholders.
[Prioritization] Communicate frequently and effectively with your manager to prioritize projects across a wide range of initiatives and stakeholders.
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Strong quantitative and analytical skills with demonstrated success in analytical or financial roles – preferred 2-4 years previous experience in analytics, consulting, finance, or another similar field.
Demonstrated success wrangling, querying, curating, and deriving insights from large datasets.
Experience with analytical tools/software such as SQL or Snowflake.
Experience with data visualization and dashboard development (Tableau or similar).
Advanced skills with MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint).
Demonstrated strength in written and verbal communication, adjusting message to audience.
Excellent interpersonal and relationship management skills, with the ability to communicate effectively.
Strong organization and time management skills. Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and coordinate across multiple functions within an organization.
Preferred:
Experience with programming languages like Python or R, or data analysis tools like Alteryx, SPSS, or Knime
Project management experience
Experience with basic predictive modeling (regressions, random forest models, etc.)

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $76,841.70 - $100,034.21 + annual bonus. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
