Mizuho Corporate Bank Linux Engineer in New York, United States
Join the Mizuho team as a Linux Engineer!
In this role you will be responsible for a variety of functions within the project implementation process including Business Analyst, Project Management, and Technical Resource/Implementer. You should be familiar with developing engineering standards, workflow, process improvements, research new technologies and transfer to system support teams.
[Responsibilities]
Design, implement, operate, and support Mizuho’s Linux infrastructure
Collaborate with business owners, developers, operations teams, technologists, and management to deliver high-quality solutions to real-world problems
Take a data driven approach to analyzing and solving complex problems
Continually seek to improve system performance and drive down latency
Use an engineering mindset and automation/ DevOps to improve service delivery and increase user satisfaction
Guide projects from beginning to end, including design, procurement, implementation, and documentation
Research new technologies and solutions; be a catalyst for change
Constantly improve monitoring and alerting for system and application performance
[Preferred Qualifications]
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or relevant fields is required
Over 5 years of engineering experience in contributing toward the architecture and design of new and existing Linux environment.
Deep understanding of Linux system internals
Consistent track record working under pressure in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities
Strong problem solving and troubleshooting skills
A team oriented and customer service mindset with a strong will to succeed
Ansible Roles/Playbook experience is required
Ansible Tower, or Ansible Automation Platform experience is required
Bash and/or Python scripting is required
Red Hat Satellite and Red Hat IdM experience is preferred
OpenShift and/or Kubernetes experience is strongly preferred
VMware experience is preferred
MS Azure experience is preferred
Participate in an on-call rotation with the team for off-hours support. Other duties as assigned or needed.
Financial trading industry experience and automation skills are preferred
The role requires to be in the office for 2 days a week. Subject to change
The role is for local (NYC/NJ) candidates only. No relocation assistance is available
Eligible to work in the U.S. without visa sponsorship
The expected base salary ranges from $77k-$130k. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, and, where applicable, certifications and licenses obtained. Market and organizational factors are also considered. In addition to salary and a generous employee benefits package, successful candidates are eligible to receive a discretionary bonus.
