Wealth Management Institutional Relationship Management Role:

The Wealth Management Institutional Relationship Manager is responsible for driving C-level and field relationships and establishing and executing joint go-to-market plans and holistic solution-building. The individual in the role can amicably navigate client, partner and stakeholder relationships to effectively achieve goals, attain decisions, and resolve differences. The role will also be responsible for driving top line revenue growth and overall market adoption of Wealth Management solutions, by establishing and growing critical relationships. The ideal candidate will have both a business / consulting background that enables them to engage at the C-level, as well as a sales background that enables them to manage joint go-to-market efforts and to easily interact with customers and executives.

Wealth Management Institutional Relationship Management Responsibilities

Relationship Management and Business Development: • Establish relationships with C-level and other key executive decision makers within coverage universe • Develop key relationships with all Morgan Stanley contacts and influencers that touch the client • Continuously update all Morgan Stanley parties to ensure awareness of activities • Conduct QBRs with clients to track and discuss progress against objectives / strategies and uncover new / unanticipated needs • Understand clients’ strategies to deliver innovative solutions to support them • Provide differentiated, value-added insights that only Morgan Stanley can deliver • Stay current on institutional and workplace solution trends and best practices that can be leveraged for thought leadership conversations with our clients • Actively engage with product teams across Wealth Management to both understand and influence roadmaps to meet clients’ needs • Introduce and drive adoption of the Morgan Stanley at Work and other institutional solutions available to our target clients • Stay informed and/or consulted on issues impacting client relationships; keep senior leadership informed as appropriate • Provide strategic guidance and oversight, serving as point of escalation on issues, and ensure the team’s adherence to all operational and regulatory requirements • Initiate and engage in efforts to improve NPS, through effective partnership with the broader Morgan Stanley organization • Develop measurable goals and objectives that deliver on firmwide objectives and exceed client expectations • Be held accountable for revenue and/or growth targets within coverage universe • Partner across Morgan Stanley divisions (e.g., Investment Banking, Institutional Consulting) to ensure alignment with and/or influence on behalf of Wealth Management institutional clients • Work to produce new solutions which create value to the clients • Contribute to marketing strategies to grow the customer base

Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree along with 5-10 years of financial services industry experience or management consulting experience • Superior relationship building and interpersonal skills; able to interact with senior management as well as employees at all levels • Outstanding influencing skills: builds consensus through give and take, gains cooperation from others to accomplish goals through demonstrating expertise and building trusting relationships • Outstanding negotiation skills: negotiates successfully (win-win) in difficult situations, wins concessions without damaging relationships, thoughtfully fashions creative solutions that satisfy all parties • Expertly handles objections and conflicts, confidently changing potential concerns into consensus. Views objections as future opportunities for improvement in process or approach. • Ability to confidently assess situations to determine the importance, urgency, and risks. Makes clear decisions which are timely and in the best interests of the organization • Ability to work under periods of high pressure with tight time constraints (i.e., periods of unexpected high-volume activity or time sensitive escalations) • Strong leadership skills, including the ability to lead without authority • Independent, self-motivated and strategic thinker • Willingness to travel as needed

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $110,000 and $185,000 per year at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
