The Swap Dealer Compliance Officer will have responsibility for advising business and support functions on swap dealer and security-based swap dealer regulations. The Swap Dealer Compliance team is part of the MSS Compliance Team which is responsible for the bank’s compliance program for Commodity Futures Trading Commission swap, U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission security-based swap, and FCM business activities. This individual generally works under Director of Swap Dealer Compliance, but is expected to act with a great deal of autonomy.

As our Vice President Swap Dealer Compliance you will:

  • Interact with and advise business and functional areas across multiple regions on Futures Commission Merchant, Swap Dealer and Security-Based Swap Dealer requirements, including in the areas of trade reporting, business conduct, risk management program, and general registrant obligations

  • Provide global risk stewardship across a suite of ongoing and upcoming Commodity Futures Trading Commission and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission regulatory changes

  • Assist with the development of required annual compliance reports, and related supporting documentation

  • Track, prepare, and review responses to regulatory exam requests and inquiries, as well as other exam related matters

  • Support the discharge of Chief Compliance Officer regulatory duties (includes day-to-day activities of our issues management program and coordinating with key stakeholders across the bank on swap dealer related projects, initiatives, and regulatory changes)

  • General areas of responsibility include advisory on regulatory matters, monitoring of business activities from a compliance perspective, training and education, drafting and revising policies and procedures, and risk stewarding the business led assessments

For this role, HSBC targets a pay range between $175,000.00 and $225,000.00.

The final fixed pay offer will depend on the candidate and a number of variables, including but not limited to, role responsibilities, skill set, depth of experience and education, licensing/certification requirements, internal relativity, and specific work location.

Qualifications

You´ll likely have the following qualifications to succeed in this role:

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple deliverables while balancing short- and long-term deadlines

  • Knowledge of derivatives trading business structure and processes, including an understanding of cross-functional interdependencies. Familiarity with FX products is beneficial

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, communications, analytical and project management skills

  • Ability to work independently and problem solve with minimal direction while also working in a collective team environment
