The Vice President of Holistic Advice and Guidance within the Field Productivity Value Stream will be instrumental in shaping and executing the strategic vision of our Fortune 100 company's Foundational Business strategy. This leader's primary responsibility will be the continued development and evolution of five financial services practice model support teams in key speciality areas:

  • Financial Guidance

  • Retirement Planning

  • Estate Planning

  • Business Planning

  • Wealth Advisory

The overall team is comprised of approximately one hundred individuals, with a heavy concentration of professionals who are advanced planning attorneys, Certified Financial Planners (CFPs) and Chartered Financial Consultants (ChFCs). This team supports a captive network of several thousand advanced market focused financial advisors within the broader New York Life Agency distribution system which consists of 12,000+ agents and advisors.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Strategic Leadership - Lead the ideation, development, and execution of five specialized financial services practice models, ensuring alignment with the company's overall strategic objectives.

  2. Client Segmentation - Identify and define target client and advisor segments based on their affluence levels, financial goals, and life stages, and tailor practice models to address the specific needs of each segment.

  3. Team Leadership - Lead a team of approximately one hundred to include a senior leadership team composed of executive officers, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure the successful implementation and execution of practice models.

  4. Cross-Functional Collaboration - Collaborate closely with enterprise partners including product solutions, field training, marketing, sales support, data, and technology to ensure seamless and value add support to advisors providing advanced, holistic financial solutions.

  5. Innovation and Continuous Improvement - Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory changes to continuously evolve and enhance the effectiveness of practice model support.

  6. Performance Measurement - Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to assess the success and impact of practice model support and implement mechanisms for ongoing performance measurement and evaluation.

  7. Client Engagement - Drive engagement initiatives, including educational workshops, seminars, and personalized coaching, to deepen advisor relationships and drive business growth.

  8. Risk Management - Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and risk management protocols and implement strategies to mitigate risks associated with supporting advisors in advanced financial advisory services practices.

Required Skills:

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in financial services, with a proven track record of strategic leadership and business development.

  • Led the development and execution of strategic business plans supporting strong, consistent growth and profitability in line with the company’s short- and long-term financial objectives.

  • Strong understanding of wealth management principles, financial planning and investment strategies.

  • Demonstrated ability to influence and drive outcomes in large, complex, matrixed organizations; proven relationship-building and collaboration skills.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing, and leadership skills; provides clear direction through periods of change.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, retain, and recruit a diverse pool of talent to meet current and future organizational needs.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; strategic.

  • Entrepreneurial and/or innovative.

  • Unquestionable integrity; high ethical and moral character.

  • Enterprise succession potential required.

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required; relevant professional designation(s) and Master’s degree preferred.
