Membership Portfolio Services, within our US Consumer Services Business, is responsible for developing and scaling several growing businesses that are strategically important to American Express. We are developing unique and differentiated ways to strengthen the Membership Model by connecting Card Members with Merchants that create opportunities to help drive our growth over the mid-to-long term.

How will you make an impact in this role?

The Vice President, AMEX Ads Strategy, Operations & Go to Market sits within the Digital Advertising team reporting to the Senior Vice President, Digital Advertising & Amex Offers. This individual will help develop and incubate a digital advertising network by launching & operating display and email advertising as well as building a roadmap for other products on American Express assets. Develop a test and learn agenda, roadmap, partnership framework that will measure and scale a new revenue stream for the enterprise. Given the initial stages of the new team, this role will require a leader with proven experience in building teams, strategies, and capabilities from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the design, development, implementation, and deployment of initial advertising solutions

  • Lead the go-to-market strategy and preliminary operations for a minimum viable product (MVP)

  • Partner and build relationships with teams across the enterprise including finance, marketing, technologies, control management, legal to support the growth of the new product

  • Design a measurement framework that informs the growth and scale of this new business

  • Conduct thorough risk and compliance processes with proper controls

  • Drive integration with American Express Products and Capabilities

  • Work hand in hand with client managers and Amex Offers sales teams to secure an initial set of merchant advertising partners

  • Hire and grow a team to operationalize ads campaigns

  • Lead a team of at least 10 colleagues across the U.S.

  • Ensure all aspects of the American Express Code of Conduct are adhered to so that we uphold the highest standards in our interactions with our customers and compliantly meet all regulatory requirements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experienced people leader with at least 4 years of experience in building and running a Digital Advertising or Retail Media Network.

  • Product Development and Strategy experience

  • Excellent communication skills – the ability to influence and persuade

  • Strong relationship management skills to deepen and grow partnerships across all levels

  • Experienced people manager and matrixed leader

  • High level of professionalism; handles sensitive/confidential information with appropriate care

  • Self-starter and motivator

  • Ability to work in white space and ambiguity, comfortable with building something unproven

  • Proven ability to attract, assess, select, develop, empower, and retain the best talent, while building an environment supporting the development of diverse teams

  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and developing business recommendations

  • Using analytics to drive business decisions

  • Understanding of advertising industry

  • Positive can-do attitude

Employment eligibility to work with American Express in the U.S is required as the company will not pursue visa sponsorship for these positions

Qualifications

Salary Range: $185,000.00 to $260,000.00 annually bonus equity (if applicable) benefits
