Citigroup TTS Data Governance Officer-VP in New York, New York

As client, business, and regulatory requirements continue to increase demand for high quality data (complete, accurate, timely, and consistent) Data Governance has become increasingly important for successful execution of the TTS business lines. TTS is looking for a highly motivated, self-starting program manager/analyst who is ready to take on the challenges of working in a fast-paced global environment and contributing to TTS’ continuing business success through delivering effective data governance.

The individual will analyze, solution and govern the Risk & Controls program for Data Quality Risk under the regulatory-driven and Chief Data Office-sponsored data policy programs. In addition to program management, the role will require that the individual become a subject matter expert in Data Governance and Citi’s own set of Data Policies, Standards and Procedures. There is also an expectation that, through day-to-day execution of the role, deep knowledge of TTS’ business process, products, technology, and data elements will be gained.

This TTS Data Governance Officer role is specific to Treasury & Trade Solutions (TTS), Enterprise Services, and is responsible for governing the implementation of Data Governance policies, standards and procedures for the business globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide oversight of detailed program/initiative execution plans related to SMC&B-level data initiatives impacting TTS business, client, and regulatory reporting

  • Proactively uncover and escalate risks, issues, and dependencies that may impact program/initiative delivery

  • Facilitate and coordinate effective communication between and across key stakeholders to enable efficient execution of program goals. Specifically:

  • Deliver regular status reporting to management and key stakeholders.

  • Evaluate and communicate possible risks and issues to the completion of program milestones.

  • Organize and lead assigned program-related meetings, including the creation of agendas and preparation of materials.

  • Take ownership by escalating issues and managing them to conclusion.

  • Partner with the Chief Data Office by providing constructive and actionable feedback on Citi-wide processes, and for implementation of policies, standards, and procedures aligned with the Citi Data Governance Policy (CDGP).

  • Partner with TTS Lines of Business, Operations, and Technology to learn more about data elements and business processes, ensuring adherence to CDGP principles, standards, and procedures, and to consistently track the progress of the Data governance programs and work slate that TTS DGO is responsible for.

  • Identify opportunities for improvement and communicate accordingly with management and program/initiative owners

  • Apply program management best practices and apply appropriate governance structure across all work streams.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in Data Governance or Data Management, having 7+ years’ total experience working with large global or regional data programs

  • Experience defining, implementing, and governing the adoption and implementation of Data Standards across Treasury & Transaction products and services (i.e., payments, deposits, loans)

  • Experience governing the adoption and implementation of data risk controls inclusive of poor data quality, records retention management, data privacy breach, and data misuse

  • Experience managing business risk and control self-assessments (RCSA)

  • Working knowledge of external standards (ISO), glossaries, dictionaries, catalogs, taxonomies/ontologies

  • Experience producing high quality material and presenting it to senior audiences

  • Cash Management product knowledge across Deposit products, Trade instruments (LCs, loans, commitments), Commercial Cards, and Payments (ACH, Wires, instant payments) is preferred

  • Experience working in global functions such as Risk, Finance or Compliance is a plus

  • Confident at presenting to all levels of the organization in both verbal and written form

  • Ability to learn new material quickly and deliver results under compressed time frames

  • Proficient in MS Office, including use of Excel, PowerPoint, and Word

  • Ability to think like a Program/Project Management gained as a PM or BA

Competencies:

  • Excellent English-language based technical writing skills

  • Understands the key dimensions of Data Quality, how they relate to Data Standards, and how they are measured

  • A high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

  • Clear and confident communicator with an ability to relay information, both orally and in written form, to all levels of the organization

  • Ability to build and maintain effective firm-wide networks and relationships

  • Knowledge of and/or experience in Cash Management, Trade, Payments or Commercial Cards business is highly desirable

$129,840.00 - $194,760.00
