Location: 2 Broadway, Manhattan

Hours of Work: 8 AM – 4 PM (Monday-Friday), 11 am – 7 pm (Every 3rd Thursday)

*This position is open to all NYCT Train Transit Service Supervisors, Assistant Train Dispatchers and Train Dispatchers. *

Compensation

Note: You will maintain your current rate of pay.

Responsibilities

The incumbent will handle labor relations issues/related functions under the auspices of the Office of Labor Relations. These functions include, but are not limited to:

  • Serving as Step I Hearing Officer/Step II Management Representative in disciplinary cases

  • Serving as Step I Contract Grievance Hearing Officer/Step II Management Representative

  • Advising Service Delivery supervision/management on disciplinary matters

  • Reviewing field Disciplinary Packages and advising management regarding necessary documentation

  • Updating electronic databases

  • Performing other functions as required

    Education and Experience

  • Five (5) years of Service Delivery experience, two years of which must be in the capacity of a permanent Transit Service Supervisor, Assistant Train Dispatcher or Train Dispatcher; or

  • An associate degree/higher in Labor Relations, Public Administration, Transportation, or other related field with five (5) years of Service Delivery experience, including a minimum of one year as a permanent Transit Service Supervisor, Assistant Train Dispatcher or Train Dispatcher, or

  • A satisfactory equivalent of education and experience.

    Desired Skills

  • Candidates should also attach a cover letter as part of their resumes.

  • Knowledge of NYCT Rules, Regulations, Labor Agreements, Policies and Procedures

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suites (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, Access and Excel), PeopleSoft and related applications.

    Selection Method

    Based on evaluation of education, skills, experience and interview.

    All appointments, with the exception of Department of Subways’ employees on MaBSTOA payroll, will be made on the NYCT payroll.
