ASPCA Temporary Animal Relocation Vehicle, Crate & Inventory Assistant - Boston/Dallas in New York, New York

The ASPCA's Animal Relocation team is responsible for transporting more than 35,000 dogs and cats each year.Using both land and air transportation, the ASPCA partners with "source" shelters in areas with high homeless pet populations and transports animals to "destination" shelters in communities where adoptable animals are in high demand.
This lifesaving work is only possible with the highest standards for animal care and the right tools and equipment in place. We are seeking temporary, part-time Animal Relocation Vehicle, Crate & Inventory Assistants, a contracted position hired through The Forum Group, to inventory and prepare flight crates and supplies prior to transport, deconstruct and clean animal crates following a transport, and prepare the crates for shipment to be used in future transports.
This is tough, physically strenuous work. It's also crucial to the success of our program - properly sanitized crates, and a well-managed inventory of readily accessible supplies, contribute to the health of the animals on transport and ensure we can maximize the number of animals relocated and save more lives.
This is a contracted position hired through The Forum Group. Given the per diem nature of this position, part-time team members will be employed through a third-party staffing agency and not by the ASPCA.
Candidates must have five or more years of driving experience, provide a valid driver's license upon hire and pass a motor vehicle history check demonstrating a safe driving history.
Compensation: $25/hr
Boston Candidates: Must be available to work Wednesday and Thursday at least three weeks per month. Additional weekend work may be available. Candidate must live within the Boston metro area.
Dallas Candidates: Must be available to work a flexible schedule, including weekdays and some weekends. This role typically includes several hours of scheduled work each week, and then occasional work that arises throughout the week that may fluctuate in hours based on need.Candidate must live within 30 miles of DFW Airport.
