Position Summary
The Center for Infection and Immunity (CII) - one of the world's most advanced academic centers for research in disease surveillance, diagnosis and discovery is seeking a candidate for a Technician B position. The candidate will report to the Principal Investigator and assist in projects focused on detection of tick-transmitted pathogens.
Responsibilities
- The candidate will report to the Principal Investigator and assist in projects focused on detection of tick-transmitted pathogens. The candidate will carry out experiments involving real time PCR, DNA and RNA extraction, and preparation of DNA for next generation sequencing (NGS). The candidate will assist in organizing large datasets of microbial sequences obtained from NGS and maintain detailed records of the work. The candidate will also assist with lab maintenance and perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Lab experience.
