Our client, the world's leading search engine and technology company, is seeking a Technical Program Manager. This is a 6 month + contract and hybrid remote position located in New York, NY.

Summary:
  • On a continuous basis the Google Customer Solutions (GCS) organization conducts impact measurement to isolate the incremental revenue driven by frontline sales teams.
  • Results of this process are instrumental in driving program design and resource allocation decisions.
  • There is an ongoing multi-quarter, strategic initiative to develop the next set of GCS impact measurement solutions (see above).
  • Goal of this project is to
    • a) capture the complexity of the GCS business.
    • b) reduce the proliferation of impact measurement solutions throughout GCS.
    • c) also driving impact explainability at scale.
  • As needed, provide ad hoc support for other projects in the GCS Data Science (DS) team specifically in the Impact and Experimentation (ImEx) team.

Responsibilities:
  • Execution and governance:
    • Independently determine and collect data required to execute and govern above mentioned projects effectively. Independently maintain respective project trackers and status reports.
    • Define program governance structure by determining effective management of mitigations, postmortems, and escalations.
    • Lead effective project team meetings.
  • Communications management:
    • Design and deliver predictable project communication plans in collaboration with project stakeholders. Represent the project team across a wide range of touchpoints.
  • Technical judgment:
    • Across teams, assess the impact of technical escalations and triage technical issues.
    • Where relevant, resolve issues and requests related to tooling and process that support data science / data engineering execution.
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Help determine program phasing and metrics that effectively drive continuous improvement including Resource Stewardship in close collaboration with project stakeholders.
    • Establish regular checkpoints to deliver and assess improvement metrics.
    • Provide transparency into and rationale for program pivots.
  • Ad-hoc strategic support requests (business analysis):
    • Drive responses to ad-hoc data requests, answering questions, and providing technical support, analyses and recommendations
    • Leverage technical judgment to independently maintain project trackers and status reports.
    • Design and deliver predictable project communication plans in collaboration with project stakeholders.
    • Drive and recommend hypothesis driven and data-oriented analyses (e.g. architect metrics, synthesize information etc.) to solve ad-hoc strategic support requests.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 5 years of experience in project / program management on technical cross-functional projects, including planning, execution, estimation, risk management and stakeholder management.
  • Experience managing execution of programs that span multiple engineering and / or data science teams.
  • Demonstrated leadership and communication skills, frequently interacting with both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience with data analysis and extraction using SQL or BigQuery.
  • Knowledge of client Ads products, sales teams and/or service teams.
  • Execution and governance:
    • Ability to organize and manage the activities that lead to the outcomes of a project: what, who, when, and how.
    • Adjust "levers (e.g., schedule, staffing, features) to deliver results on time.
    • Effectively monitor and communicate progress, risks, and mitigations.
    • Typical artifacts include governance plans, project trackers, status reports, OKRs, retrospectives, and escalation reports.
  • Communications management:
    • Ability to listen effectively to stakeholders, to communicate program goals, progress, and health to them in a manner tailored to their interests and concerns at all levels, and to drive understanding and inform decisions.
    • Typical artifacts include communications plans, metrics and status reports, decision logs, newsletters, and websites.
  • Technical judgment:
    • The ability to assess data science / data engineering problems, understand the interplay between project and technical issues, and contribute to shaping technical directions.
  • Typical artifacts include:
    • Technical analysis (e.g. defect analysis), Eng Review presentations, and technical roadmaps and white papers.
  • Continuous improvement:
    • Ability to establish systems to identify improvements and drive future needs around business processes, products, or services on an ongoing basis, through measurement of performance, progress, and success metrics.
    • Typical artifacts include metric plans (e.g., leading and trailing KPIs), dashboards, trend analysis, control charts, and retrospectives.
  • Ad-hoc strategic support requests (business analysis):
    • Ability to analyze information, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate outcomes.
    • This includes the ability to use data to add value to business planning and strategies.
    • Proactively identify impactful business opportunities and/or gaps in systems and workflows.
    • Develop a plan of action and influence / drive team for large business outcomes.
  • Only candidates available and ready to work directly as Genesis10 employees will be considered for this position.

Non-Essential Skills/Qualifications:
  • 5+ years' experience of architecting data analytics, business intelligence, visualization, and complex data solutions using SQL or Python.
  • Experience working in the field of causal inference and / or applied causal machine learning.

Pay rate range: $83.78 - $95.97 hourly
