The Technical and Financial Reporting team is responsible for delivering timely and accurate financial reporting, accounting for complex accounting transactions across a variety of accounting topics in accordance with US GAAP, maintaining accounting policies in key accounting areas, all while partnering with teams across the company. As a member of the team, you'll play a vital role in designing and maintaining scalable procedures, policies and internal controls to ensure compliance with US GAAP and other laws/regulations. The ideal candidate will be a proactive, highly analytical and technical individual who can work independently, and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.

This is a full time role that can be held from one of our US hubs or remotely in the United States.

What you'll do at Figma:
  • Prepare quarterly financial statements and disclosures in accordance with US GAAP and manage timely and accurate financial reporting processes for internal and external partners.
  • Prepare the quarterly statement of cash flows.
  • Assist in handling the external audit directly with external auditors.
  • Own the equity accounting and reporting process to include preparation of all monthly and quarterly journal entries and technical accounting memos for all equity transactions and maintenance of equity and earnings per share disclosures.
  • Prepare technical accounting analyses for non-standard transactions including but not limited to M&A, equity award modifications, complex leases and investments.
  • Monitor for new FASB accounting pronouncements and assist in the implementation of new accounting standards.
  • Prepare new or update existing accounting policy memos for responsible areas.
  • Help develop and maintain internal controls over financial reporting and technical accounting.
  • Identify matters that have a technical accounting impact based on review of contracts, board minutes, and term sheets.
  • Assist in preparation of monthly/quarterly flux analysis and CFO reporting packages.
  • Assist in SOX readiness efforts.
  • Assist in ad hoc projects such as system implementations.
We'd love to hear from you if you have:
  • 4+ years of accounting experience with an emphasis on technical accounting (SEC reporting experience is a bonus)
  • Experience in a combination of audit/financial statement reporting/technical accounting
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP accounting standards including but not limited to: ASC 350-40, ASC 718, ASC 805, ASC 820, ASC 842
  • Proven experience to conduct thorough technical accounting research and prepare evaluation memos on complex transactions and events
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and organizational skills
  • Demonstrated experience building cross-functional relationships and collaborating across all levels and functions
While not required, it's an added plus if you also have:
  • A CPA (or are currently a CPA candidate)
  • Experience working in a high-growth SaaS company
  • Experience with NetSuite, Shareworks, Workiva and/or similar accounting softwares
  • Prior experience working in public accounting

Pay Transparency Disclosure

If based in Figma's San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.

Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. Annual Base Salary Range (SF/NY Hub):
$122,000$238,000 USD
