The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

The School of Nursing is looking to hire a Student Research Worker to to work under the direction of a Principal Investigator's program of research focusing on improving quality and equity in maternal healthcare.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include:

  • Supporting participant enrollment, consenting, and accrual in a clinical trial focused on maternal health
  • Must be bilingual in English and Spanish
  • Assists in creation of study databases. Manages and enters collected data into study database.
  • Coordinates and schedules meetings and data collection in support of research projects and investigators.
  • Assists with the preparation of research meeting materials and research-related promotional materials.
  • Conducts literature reviews
  • Assists in collection of qualitative and quantitative data - primarily involving semi-structured interviews (qualitative) and surveys (mixed methods)
  • Potential assistance in analysis of data
  • Support in the preparation of materials, submissions and renewals to the Institutional Review Board (IRB).
  • Assists faculty in grant and manuscript preparation.
  • Attending all research related meetings;
  • Working closely with sites and study personnel and
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

This is a grant funded position. Continued employment is based on availability of funding.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Requires at least a bachelor's degree and current enrollment at Columbia University.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Computer fluency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team.
  • Previous research experience is desired, specifically experience consenting, enrolling, and interacting with participants.
