Our Construction Engineering practice helps developers, contractors, designers, fabricators and erectors efficiently and effectively move projects from initial concept to completion through early involvement in the design process. We are a leading fundamental change in how the AEC community approaches project delivery. Our trademarked Advanced Project Delivery (APD) service brings construction engineering and detailing into the early phases of design. This early integration of structural design and detailing gives contractors more detailed information months sooner than with conventional delivery.

The Role

We have an opportunity for a talented Steel Connection Design Engineer to join our Construction Engineering Practice. Candidates for the Steel Connection Design Engineer position should have experience in medium to large size projects such as cultural buildings, office buildings, health care and research facilities, stadiums and arenas.

Responsibilities

  • Structural analysis, design and detailing of steel connections.
  • Coordination of design and detail work with in-house engineering staff, Tekla modelers, as well as other design professionals.
  • Assist in the direction, coordination, planning, organization, integration, and completion of Advanced Project Delivery (APD) and/or connection design projects.
  • Manage other design team members and supervise the work of other engineers and Tekla modelers.


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Structural Engineering, or a related field, required.
  • Minimum 4 years of experience in the design of steel connections.
  • Professional Engineer and/or SE License, or the ability to obtain a license, preferred.
  • Knowledge of Tekla Structures preferred, but not necessary.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


Compensation
The rate for this position generally is$84,000-$94,500annually.This range is a good faith estimate provided pursuant to the New York Pay Transparency Law. It is based on what a successful New York applicant might be paid and assumes that the successful candidate will be in New York or perform the position from New York. Similar positions located outside of New York will not necessarily receive the same compensation.Actual pay rates may vary from the range, as permitted byNew YorkEqual Pay Transparency Law. Compensation offers will be based on various factors, including operational needs, individual education, qualifications and experience, work location and comparison to employee already in the role, as well as other considerations permitted by law. A potential new employee's pay history will not be used in compensation decisions.
