Staffing Assistant - Nursing Administration - Mount Sinai West - Part Time (26.25 hours) - Day - plus every other weekend

Performs clerical duties for Staffing and Private Duty Offices

Qualifications

High School graduate.

Two years clerical experience preferably in health care.

Collective bargaining unit: SEIU 1199-MSW

SEIU 1199 at Mount Sinai West, BCY - Nursing Administration - WST, Mount Sinai West

Responsibilities

1.Performs receptionist duties and screens all personnel and visitors

2.Prepares time schedules for all float and per diem personnel

3.Collects and assembles time schedules for approval and copying

4.Assists in preparing daily staffing sheets, checks against Master Schedules, makes time changes as necessary, verifies staffing with Clinical Coordinator, Assistant Nursing Care Coordinator or charge personnel to assure proper coverage of nursing units

5.Calls staff for reassignment or overtime; notifies and records appropriately

6.Assigns supplemental and private duty staff

7.Makes telephone calls to obtain additional staff as necessary

8.Records absence from duty of nursing personnel and reports information to appropriate unit

9.Maintains record of all vacations for all nursing personnel

10.Records unit census and classification on daily staffing sheets

11.Checks the JCAHO regulatory requirements for supplemental and private duty staff

12.Works with Nursing Payroll Clerks to compile data and maintain statistics related to staffing, i.e., patient classification, nursing care hours, census fluctuation, overtime and Per Diem utilization

13.Maintains and updates addresses and the phone numbers of nursing employees

14.Orients patients and families about direct payment of private duty nurses and attendants

15.Maintains employee card files from position controls

16.Checks licensures periodically and reports any discrepancies

17.May relieve Nursing Payroll Clerk as needed

18.Contacts private duty and supplemental staff agencies when unable to fill requests for on call list

19.Verifies all invoices for staffing from outside agencies

20.Plans coverage for patients on close observation utilizing staff and/or registry

21.Prepares and maintains patient cards and private duty nurse and attendant cards

22.Answers correspondence from patients, families, and insurance companies for reimbursement purposes

Compensation Statement

Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $26.1293 - $28.3644 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
