Description We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Staff Accountant in the Non-Profit industry, located in NEW YORK, New York. As part of our team, you'll be tasked with handling accounts receivable, performing analysis, reconciliations, and progressing to more advanced tasks under the guidance of the Controller.

Responsibilities:

• Handle Accounts Receivable (AR) efficiently, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

• Perform detailed financial analysis to provide insights and support decision making.

• Conduct regular bank reconciliations to ensure financial integrity.

• Prepare financial statements and participate in the month-end closing processes.

• Assist with audit work paper preparation and handling.

• Ensure the General Ledger is well maintained and journal entries are accurately recorded.

• Develop proficiency in Non-profit Accounting practices and principles.

• Handle Accounts Payable (AP), ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded.

• Progress to higher-level tasks as directed by the Controller, including handling of Form 990s. Requirements • Minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP)

• Proficiency in Accounts Receivable (AR)

• Familiarity with Bank Reconciliations

• Experience with General Ledger operations

• Ability to handle Journal Entries accurately

• Proven experience in Month End Close activities

• Prior experience in Non-profit Accounting is essential

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field is preferred

• Excellent numerical skills and attention to detail

• Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple assignments

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel

• Knowledge of accounting software and databases.
