JPMorgan Chase Sr Lead eSoftware Engineer in New York, New York

As a Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within the Commercial & Investment Bankyou are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. As a core technical contributor, you are responsible for conducting critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm's business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting with ability to think beyond routine or conventional approaches to build solutions or break down technical problems

  • Develop secure high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others

  • Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve overall operational stability of software applications and systems

  • Write Q code, develop and maintain applications using KDB technology stack.

  • Analyze, design and implement solutions for regular business enhancement requests and collaboration with global peers.

  • Implement cloud migration solutions and new technology frameworks for KDB applications.

  • Implement new compliance and regulatory guidelines for data systems.

  • Plan, test and automate regular production releases of applications.

  • Communicate with global stakeholders, handle regular user queries and L3 production support requests.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability

  • Proficiency in automation and continuous delivery methods

  • Proven track record with KDB, design patterns, troubleshooting, optimization.

  • Demonstrated ability in managing real-time application for high-stakes financial operations.

  • Able to make decisions in a fast-paced environment and strike a balance between tactical and strategic approaches to solve problems for the business

  • Strong work ethic and delivery focused

  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate with a global team of highly skilled engineers

  • Proficiency in dynamic teamwork, and goal oriented environments

  • Organizational skills to be able to juggle multiple responsibilities while maintaining focus

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience in end to end development of software for financial services

  • Optimization and performance tuning of large scale KDB applications

  • Development and deployment of services in cloud environments - CI/CD, Infrastructure as code, best practices with cloud compute and storage

  • Exposure to Event driven technologies like Apache Kafka

Base Pay/Salary
