Hagerty is currently supporting a humanitarian mission that provides emergency sheltering and other services to vulnerable populations in New York City. This is a high-tempo, client-facing operation that requires individuals who can engage in complex, sensitive, and fast-moving conversations and rapidly provide thoughtful analysis of problems, risks, and inefficiencies and solutions and recommendations to address them. The role requires individuals with a high level of professionalism, humility, interpersonal skills, and precision with communications.

We are looking for Site Managers to join our New York City project and are prioritizing mid to senior-level candidates with a background in emergency management, humanitarian relief, and management consulting. . This is a contract position that will be on-site in New York City.The ideal candidate should have a passion for emergency management, be a self-starter, and have the desire to solve complex problems for our clients.

Candidates for this position should have experience managing emergency response or humanitarian relief operations and logistics. Successful candidates will be able to work collaboratively with stakeholders from different departments and agencies, troubleshooting issues and solving problems as they arise, and provide daily site reporting and communications back to agency leadership.

Candidates for the role of Site Manager must possess the following qualifications:

  • A bachelor-s degree or higher.

  • At least seven (7) years of professional experience in emergency management, humanitarian or migrant support coordination, or a related field.

  • The ability to coordinate across partner agencies to ensure a fully functioning site and solve problems that arise during the operation of the site.

  • Experience troubleshooting and escalating issues to leadership as needed.

  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (including Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint).

  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities and strong attention to detail.

  • The ability to provide summary products, meeting recaps, or deliverables for clients.

  • A willingness to be on-site working with a client for more than one month.

  • The ability to work 12-hour nights and weekend shifts as needed based on the client-s operational tempo.

  • The ability to remain calm and poised under pressure, work successfully on multiple priorities simultaneously, and remain focused when working under tight deadlines.

Candidates for the role of Site Manager may also have the following qualifications:

  • A background working with and supporting vulnerable populations.

  • Experience working as part of an Operations or Logistics Section on a previous disaster.

  • Experience managing site operations during the COVID-19 pandemic or managing a similar operation during a disaster event.

Salary: The salary range is $95,000-$155,000. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skills, experience and training, licensure and certifications, location, travel requirements, and other business and organizational needs.
