Responsible for production and quality control of engineering analysis and design calculations, project reports, and technical drawings for water resources projects, including open-channel hydraulics, flood control, stormwater management, resiliency planning, and site development. Lead design teams in developing hydrology and hydraulics engineering designs; apply hydrology and hydraulics engineering approaches to analyze and address a wide range of engineering design challenges; Perform watershed delineation, riverine and conveyance system hydraulics, bridge and culvert sizing, scour analysis, and inundation mapping. Prepare calculations and design Best Management Practices (BMPs) for stormwater management. Apply knowledge of FEMA regulations for permitting development in flood hazard areas. Prepare scopes of work, contract cost estimates, and technical marketing proposals. Position duties require extensive utilization of specialized engineering software for hydrology and hydraulics design and analysis such as HEC-RAS 1D and 2D, HEC-HMS, and SWMM, use of AutoCAD and AutoCAD Civil 3D for preparing of engineering plans, and use of ArcGIS software and extensions for water resources engineering applications. Position requires approximately 5% travel time to project sites in the New York/New Jersey area.Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering, followed by minimum five years of progressive experience in the position offered.
