Sesame Workshop Senior Manager, Speakers Bureau and Public Affairs in New York, New York

Sesame Workshop is seeking a temporary part-time Senior Manager, Speakers Bureau and Public Affairs to provide coverage for Sesame Workshop’s speaking engagements and other efforts to advance our mission. The Senior Manager would primarily report to the VP, Global Brand Narrative & Public Affairs to support efforts to facilitate speaking engagements, executive communications, and other thought leadership opportunities to elevate the brand and mission of Sesame Workshop. The Senior Manager will coordinate Sesame speaking engagements and field incoming requests, research opportunities, write briefing materials and talking points, work cross-functionally, process legal clearances, and manage speaker logistics. Please note: This part-time temporary role requires 3 days per week / 2 days hybrid in the office, concluding at the end of April 2025. RESPONSIBILITIES • Field requests for Sesame Workshop speakers, vet requests, and secure additional opportunities to elevate Sesame Workshop’s mission and objectives • Conduct intake calls to capture the details of speaking opportunities and draft notes to summarize information; assess value of opportunities and make thoughtful recommendations • Draft briefing materials and talking points for speaking engagements and other thought leadership and executive communications opportunities • Work closely with external agency to coordinate opportunities and advance Sesame Workshop’s thought leadership objectives; bring new and creative ideas forward for consideration • Arrange and lead pre-program calls with speakers and event hosts to review presentation content and logistics; provide prep to speakers, including executives, as needed • Conduct research and prepare summary briefs about summits, conferences, and other convenings where Sesame Workshop might pursue speaking opportunities • Liaise with a wide range of stakeholders across the organization including PR & Events, Audience Development, Brand Creative, Philanthropic Development, Finance, Legal, and more to advance our thought leadership strategy and coordinate speaking engagement communications and logistics • Coordinate with Legal department to prepare speaking agreements and permission letters • Maintain records tracking Speakers Bureau activity and library of talking points and presentation materials • Be prepared to staff speakers and talent onsite at events as needed • Draft budget estimates, coordinate invoices and payment, and provide other administrative support • Provide regular reports to the VP, Global Brand Narrative & Public Affairs QUALIFICATIONS • 5+ years of experience in events and/or communications, with non-profit experience strongly preferred • Excellent writer who loves to tell a great story, whether it’s talking points or a presentation • Superior process management skills: time management and follow-through, experience with deadline-driven projects in a fast-paced environment; must be able to manage multiple projects concurrently • Strong attention to detail, highly organized • Must be proactive, self-motivated, and able to work independently as well as contribute to a strong team • Exceptional relationship-building skills • Demonstrated initiative and strategic thinking; results-oriented • Quick to learn new tasks • Preferred but not required: Ability to come into NYC office two days a week Equal Opportunity Employer/Minorities/Females/Veterans/Individuals with Disabilities/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
