Job Description:

Director: Product Owner – Liquidity Risk

The Liquidity Risk Technology group at TD Securities is seeking a Product Owner at the Director level, with responsibilities to shape the future direction of our liquidity risk engine. The core mission of the applications we build is to help the firm quantify, understand, and reduce our external total exposure in case of adverse market conditions. We operate within a modern and complex area of finance, operating with sophisticated computational models, supporting billions of calculations daily and leveraging Big Data storage for analytics and data distribution.

Responsibilities

Working closely with our business partners across trading, finance and risk management the successful candidate will own the following responsibilities:

  • Work with Senior Management in the Business to define the application roadmap for our liquidity risk solutions, aligned with Regulatory requirements.

  • Apply liquidity Risk SME knowledge and lead projects. Define and manage the delivery of best-in-class risk solutions supporting Wholesale and Retail.

  • Identify commercial opportunities and support growth plans for the Front-Office

  • Work with Director of Technology to build applications in line with microservices patterns with a view to scale to hundreds of billions of computations daily.

  • Manage audit requests.

  • Directly manage a team of 5+ Analysts.

The successful candidate should also demonstrate a strong affinity with the following:

  • Partner with product SMEs, Treasury, and Risk Management stakeholders to develop a strategic analytics platform to optimize the dealer and the enterprise's funding & liquidity needs.

  • Act as product manager and champion for the platform’s analytics and end-user experience.

  • Own data enhancement initiatives: complete in-depth analysis on trades and products across TD and their overall impact on the dealer's funding and liquidity position. Drive and facilitate data on-boarding from source systems onto the target solution.

  • Provide end-to-end test cases for developers, QAs and end-users.

  • Work collaboratively with technical and non-technical teams at TD to solve business and technology challenges.

Analytical / Business Skills

  • 10+ years of industry experience, within a Capital Markets Technology setting.

  • Expert knowledge of liquidity metrics (NSFR, LCR), liquidity risk stress testing and regulatory reporting (inclusive of 2052a).

  • Expert knowledge of collateral management and regulations, inclusive of collateral monitoring, stress tests and forecast requirements.

  • Expert knowledge of cashflow forecasting analytics and reporting across retail and wholesale.

  • Extensive experience delivering liquidity monitoring solutions aligned with Regulatory requirements.

  • Extensive experience in Data best practices (e.g. audit, CDE definition, lineage tracking). Hands on expertise with data analytics.

  • People management experience.

  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrable experience building a positive work environment that promotes customer service, quality, innovation and teamwork and ensure timely communication of issues / points of interest.

  • Experience in working within a global team.

  • Demonstrable experience working in a fast-paced environment, and supportive of flexible goals aligned with business priorities.

  • Knowledge of derivatives pricing and capital markets is a strong plus, knowledge of trading platform expertise is a plus.

Technical Skills

  • Extensive experience developing queries in SQL (any RDBMS package).

  • Strong knowledge of API solutioning and integration (REST and GraphQL).

  • Extensive experience in CI / CD tools: Jira, BitBucket.

  • Extensive experience managing teams as per Agile methodology, use of Confluence in daily work. Demonstrable experience in working across all stages of the SDLC.

  • Extensive experience in developing and managing test scripts within a testing environment, ensure defects are logged, and documented for Developer corrections.

  • Working knowledge of Kafka, ProtoBuf, Spark, Hadoop is a plus.
