Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, Analytics, the Senior Developer and Analyst (SDA) must implement the design, development, and optimization of 1) Slate by Technolutions, our Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system, 2) Power BI, and 3) associated database technologies such as SQL queries, tables, schemas, etc. This role serves as an expert to design solutions that support critical Admission, Advancement, Student Success, Marketing and Business functions and strategies via their respective offices. The SDA must display a strong knowledge of CRM administration, data visualization, and complex processes in the Enrollment, Advancement and/or Student Success functions of Higher Education. Within Slate, Power BI, and database technologies the incumbent will support our enrollment, advancement, and student success goals through data integrity, portal development, events, form templates, application oversight and maintenance, the reading process, and others as needed. In addition, the SDA will provide substantive analysis of complex information derived from information systems and consultations for use by the administrative team and academic program directors in strategic planning, policy development and implementation, and business process modification and implementation to support key School needs and goals.

Responsibilities

  • Implements design, development, implementation strategy, and optimization of systems for our school.
  • Document all requirements collected for design and development of the system environments.
  • Provide maintenance of Slate, Power BI, and supporting databases including but not limited to application development; manage user setup; customization of objects, fields, record types; build workflows; write rules, populations, and queries; event management; and build reports and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with our partner's functional staff; display full understanding of admission, advancement and/or student success -related processes and workflows.
  • Develop and produce reports, graphics, statistical analyses, and concise narratives.
  • Analyze, report upon, and ensure data integrity across systems.
  • Responsible for data imports and data integrity; establish and enforce data collection and data entry standards to ensure the accuracy and usefulness of collected information.
  • Support the day-to-day administration and management of the Slate CRM and Power BI platforms including system integrity, system issues, and problem-solving, with a priority on supporting data-driven decision making.
  • Respond to assigned Zendesk tickets and collaboratively work open issues to close.
  • Assist annual Slate CRM and Power BI review to ensure processes are effective, efficient, and up to date for the upcoming cycle.
  • Document current business processes.
  • Manage data collection to quantify processes.
  • Perform quantitative and qualitative analyses to define and support recommendations to senior management.
  • Prepare reports and analyses to present current processes and alternatives.
  • Convert business needs into technical specifications and establish a timetable for job completion.
  • Create, test, and deploy Power BI scripts, as well as execute efficient deep analysis.
  • Make technological adjustments to current Slate and BI systems to improve their performance.
  • Assist in the project management function as required to realize the process improvement.
  • May be responsible for supervising the work of one (1) or more employees.
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree required; advanced degree desirable.
  • 4 - 6 years related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or work experience.
  • 3-5 years experience working with Slate Technolutions and Power BI, possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills, and has an aptitude for developing effective processes, with strong attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and track multiple tasks.
  • Ability to facilitate problem-solving among administrative groups with varying needs and priorities, and to communicate well with administrative users, technical staff, and senior management.

Other Requirements

  • 1-2 years Slate by Technolutions experience.
  • SQL database skills and familiarity.
  • Experience in Higher Education or closely related field; Admission/Enrollment, Advancement or Student Success experience preferred.
  • Must have the initiative and ability to start and complete projects and work independently with minimum direction as well as the ability to work as part of a team.
  • Superb qualitative and quantitative analysis skills and research methods required.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple priorities and work under deadlines required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to work in a highly interactive environment.
  • Strong business acumen and judgment, innate problem-solving skills, and an intense willingness to learn new business processes and technologies.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels within the organization.
