Key Objectives/Duties: As a Safety Professional, your primary responsibilities will include: Data Analysis and Trend Identification: Reviewing, logging, and analyzing reports and data submitted by Metropolitan Transportation Authority vendors and personnel. Based on your findings, you will identify trends and suggest action plans for areas needing improvement. Vendor and Contractor Onboarding: Supporting vendor and contractor onboarding efforts by conducting policy and procedure reviews and actively participating in safety 'Kickoff Meetings' and orientation sessions. Safety Program Evaluation: Conducting reviews of contractor safety programs and developing recommendations as needed to ensure compliance with regulatory and industry standards. Recommendation Validation: Reviewing and validating safety-related recommendations submitted by others to ensure their efficiency. Progress Tracking: Monitoring the progress of submitted safety recommendations and ensuring they are carried through to completion. Project Pre-Planning: Assisting in pre-planning projects, participating in accident investigations, and providing safety training as required. Qualifications: To excel in this role, you should: Possess a minimum of 8 - 10 years of relevant workplace safety experience, with a preference for individuals with project and personnel leadership skills. Certification in workplace safety, such as CSP (Certified Safety Professional) or ASP (Associate Safety Professional) is a plus. Skills and Abilities: In addition to the qualifications mentioned above, the ideal Safety Specialist should: Demonstrate strong written and oral communication skills. Exhibit excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with clients, and build positive relationships with co-workers. Valid driver's license, good driving history and reliable transportation is required.
