Yahoo Holdings Inc. seeks Research Scientist in New York, NY.Job Duties: Develop state-of-the-art machine learning approaches and solutions in information extraction, knowledge graph, information retrieval and/or content understanding to improve the Yahoo knowledge graph and the user experiences and services built upon it for Yahoo’s Search, Content, Commerce and Advertising properties. Work with product and engineering teams to identify, scope and formulate the underlying problems to solve; review the state of the art and relevant data to propose appropriate solutions and metrics to solve the problems and measure progress; design and develop complex algorithms and state-of-the-art machine learning models based on the agreed-upon approaches, designs and metrics; design, run and analyze offline analysis and online experiments to evaluate results and extract insightful information; work with business teams to gain acceptance of proposed solutions and with engineering teams on productionizing them; generate intellectual property with patent applications and publications at relevant forums; and stay current on the published state of the art in machine learning and relevant related disciplines. Program in Python, and Java or Scala, in a Unix environment. Use machine learning frameworks such PyTorch, TensorFlow and sklearn. Use systems and algorithms for processing, analyzing, visualizing and modeling large datasets.Minimum Requirements: Ph.D. (or foreign equivalent) degree in Computer Science or related field and 2 years of experience as a data scientist, research assistant, research scientist, computer researcher or in a related/similar position. Experience therein to include 2 years of research experience in machine learning and information extraction, natural language processing, knowledge graph, information retrieval and/or recommendation. Also requires publications in one or more of the above subjects.
