Position Summary:
We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Research Data Associate. In this role, the successful candidate provides support for our Community-engaged Implementation Study of Hypertension Prevention and Navigation in Black Men. Responsible for participant recruitment, baseline and follow up data collection, participant tracking, and assist with intervention delivery. Responsible for protocol compliance and accurate data entry. Assists with study site recruitment and contributes to the maintenance of positive relationship with study sites and study participants. Assists with IRB submissions and literature reviews as needed, as well as provide support in maintaining research data and statistical reporting of study data. Works collaboratively with PI, program coordinator and other study personnel to follow proper clinical trial processes and share up-to-date information on current issues.

Job Responsibilities:

    • Participant Recruitment and Data Collection: Assist with developing participant recruitment plans; recruit and screen patients for eligibility; if eligible, complete necessary paperwork, questionnaires, and tests. Review entered data, edit obvious errors, and obtain missing information. Document all data accurately and neatly. Maintain patient confidentiality. Adhere to adverse events reporting protocols.
    • Participant Tracking: Track participant flow through the study and update tracking logs in an accurate and timely manner. Maintain participant-tracking databases for compliance with data monitoring and confidentiality protocols. Contact participants to schedule them for study visits and send retention letters as needed.
    • Project Knowledge: Demonstrate mastery of research protocol. Have a thorough knowledge of current department research studies and their rationales.
    • Site Relationships: Establish and maintain positive relationships with recruitment sites and participants. Demonstrate effective and professional communication with recruitment sites and study participants. If needed, assist Project Coordinator with site recruitment.
    • Participate in special projects and perform other duties as required.

Minimum Qualifications:
To qualify you must have a Associate's degree plus one year related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Computer literate with good interpersonal, writing and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree, preferably in science, public health, health education or a related field. Prior experience in a health care settings.
Proficiency in using various Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint and Outlook. Familiar with Internet applications. Effective oral, written, communication, interpersonal skills. Ability to work within a team environment as well as independently.
Time management skills and ability to work well under pressure. Exceptional organization skills and attention to detail. Must be able to follow study protocol rigorously.
Willingness to travel to recruitment sites in NYC as needed for community events and to attend quarterly community engagement meetings.
Experience with REDCap (project design, data exports and reports).

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $51,243.96 - $54,600.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
