The Region Development Consultant is responsible for working with the Sr. Development Consultant and the Region SVP, Development Consultant & Training to develop the Eastern States Region comprehensive strategic plan for the American Heart Association’s core field campaigns. The Region Development Consultant provides critical mentor to staff around the Association’s campaign product best practices, and partners with staff to develop robust campaign impact & action plans to exceed quarterly, fiscal year and event year revenue targets, and further bring the mission of the American Heart Association to life. The Region Development Consultant serves as the ES Region’s primary product expert in Heart Challenge campaign and/or Socials campaigns (Heart of “City” and Go Red for Women) through: coaching and consultation, campaign analysis, high-level strategy, progressive thought-leadership, ability to overcome challenges and provide solutions to drive significant revenue growth across the region

Responsibilities
The ideal candidate is an inspirational and influential leader with extensive success in campaign/product fundraising and has led campaigns to achieve significant (7-figure+) YOY growth. This individual has a deep knowledge of core campaigns and their primary revenue streams, including, but not limited to, sponsorship, Peer-to-Peer, individual giving/major gifts, retail/point-of-sale campaigns, business partner engagement and matching gifts. The candidate should highly adaptable, eager to learn and teach, find value in investing in the growth and development of others, and seek to move the mission of the American Heart Association forward in meaningful ways.
Campaign product(s) authority with a proven record of success and 7-figure+ year-over-year growth in event fundraising.
Solution oriented, innovative thought-leader, able to lead multiple ongoing initiatives/projects, anticipate challenges, influence others, and provide strategic consultation.
Partners with SVP, Region Development Consultant & Training, and Sr. Development Consultant on the strategic growth plans for the Region’s core field campaigns demonstrating the Association’s best practices and timeline.
Coaches, consults, trains and partners with field staff on best practice timeline & outcomes in order to achieve quarterly, fiscal and event year revenue goals.
Coaches, consults, trains and partners with field staff on the development of campaign impact & growth plans, aligned with Market vision and objectives, to enable significant and sustainable growth.
Serves as Region authority in core product(s) (Heart Challenge/Socials campaigns) for ES field campaign development staff.
Serves as a liaison to National product campaign lead(s.
Provides consistent oversight and tracking of campaign(s), data analysis, and key observations around KPI’s for the Region’s priorities and focus areas for core product(s) to SVP and Sr. Development Consultant.
Develops and implements strategic solutions to overcome challenges and drive revenue growth in core product(s).
Provides regular revenue forecasts and projections by campaign and market across the region for core product(s).
Handles special projects across the Region as needed.
Home office with 30%-40% travel expected.
Qualifications

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred
5+ years of relevant experience in fundraising, sales, or equivalent type experience
Experience raising $1m+ in revenue, along with recruiting and leading volunteers
Validated experience with key fundraising strategies – including but not limited to business partner campaigns, c-suite volunteer management, six figures+ sponsorship/marketing proposals, as well as mission integration in key requests.
Comfortable working with executives at the VP, SVP and EVP level.
Ability to direct a team but also to work independently.
Excellent influencing skills - experience in consultation to staff over which there is no reporting relationship.
Skills in written and verbal communication at all organizational levels including large and small group presentations, group facilitation and trainings.
Ability to plan and conduct meetings.
Knowledge of group dynamics and group process.
Experience in event planning, organizing, consultation and volunteer management preferred.
Strong organizational and analytical skills with the proven track record to analyze numbers to impact campaign trends and build strategies on where to shift to impact future results
Ability to use Microsoft products, computer software, run reports and maintain accurate data.
Ability to travel on a moment's notice throughout the region (up to 35%) which may include some nights and weekends as needed.
Willing to work outside of standard hours as needed.
Compensation & Benefits
Salary minimum to the midpoint of the range is $72,400 to $96,600. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range.
