Robert Half Purchasing Manager in New York, New York

Description

We are in the market for a Purchasing Manager to join our team in New York, New York. This role will require the successful candidate to manage procurement activities, ensuring the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services that meet our needs in terms of cost-effectiveness and quality. The Purchasing Manager will work closely with internal stakeholders, keep an eye on market trends, and implement best practices to optimize procurement operations.

Responsibilities:

• Direct and oversee the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services to meet organizational needs.

• Collaborate with internal stakeholders to determine procurement needs, specifications, and requirements.

• Conduct market analysis to identify trends and seek better deal opportunities.

• Negotiate contracts with suppliers to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to quality standards.

• Implement procurement best practices to optimize operations.

• Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors.

• Manage purchase orders and establish delivery schedules.

• Coordinate with the Quality Control team to ensure the quality of received goods.

• Utilize software tools such as Microsoft Excel and QuickBooks to maintain accurate records of purchases.

• Handle any issues related to billing and resolve customer inquiries.

Requirements • Must possess at least 3 years of experience in a Purchasing Manager role or similar.

• Proficiency in Billing, Microsoft Excel, and QuickBooks is required.

• Must have a strong understanding of purchasing functions and purchase orders.

• Experience in quality control is essential.

• Ability to efficiently manage and organize multiple tasks.

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to interact with vendors and suppliers.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or related field preferred.

• Ability to analyze and interpret financial data.

• Must have knowledge of inventory management and supply chain processes.

• Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.

• Must be detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
