IBM Program Director, Product Marketing, Network Management in New York, New York

As an IBM product marketing manager in United States, your reach is global as you communicate with other IBM teams, clients, and business partners across the world. You will be able to grow your knowledge of cutting-edge software, such as generative AI or hybrid cloud, while driving outcomes that shape the future of IBM and your own career.

Leaders are expected to spend time with their teams and clients and therefore are generally expected to be in the workplace a minimum of three days a week, subject to business needs.

Your Role and Responsibilities

We are seeking a product marketing champion to join our Software Marketing & Communications team. As Program Director of Product Marketing, Network Management, you will drive product positioning, messaging, and go-to-market strategies for a significant portfolio of products within the Automation platform of software products, Network Management. The portfolio has PLG and strategic offerings (such as NS1 Connect, Hybrid Cloud Mesh, SevOne, Rapid Network Automation).

As the manager of Network Management Product Marketing, you will lead a team of approximately 6 Product Marketing professionals working closely with product management, sales, and other key stakeholders to develop the marketing strategy and execute against key goals to drive business growth and is measured by business revenue, pipeline, and marketing contribution KPIs. We are seeking leaders who can:

  • Keep pace with market and portfolio changes and trends

  • Navigate and thrive in a setting that has a complex set of senior stakeholders, where a strong POV and a sense of urgency are required

  • Lead from the front with technical expertise

  • Have a strong point of view on how to drive business outcomes occasionally amid ambiguity

  • Collaborate across the marketing function to connect demand generation, product, content, ABM, and event marketing plans with sales teams to generate and progress pipeline, attract new clients, and increase client loyalty and retention

  • Coach for confidence and build a team of strategic business leaders

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

General / Leadership:

  • Proven strong leader, able to think strategically and have a hands-on management style.

  • Excellent judgment based on data, business/marketing acumen, and expert resources.

  • Team player who thrives on breakthrough thinking and creativity.

  • Exceptional collaboration, cultural sensitivity, and matrix management skills.

  • Track record of building, developing, motivating, and managing high-performance teams.

  • Strong organizational and operational skills, very comfortable with performance metrics.

  • Minimum 6 years of experience in b2b tech marketing.

Marketing and Communications Discipline;

  • Experience in Product or B2B Marketing.

  • Experience creating marketing business plans.

  • Interest in, but not limited to, the following software products: automation or software networking.

  • Experience working and communicating with groups of different backgrounds and skills to enable collaboration.

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities at once, prioritizing tasks, and shifting in an environment of continuous change.

Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Deep understanding of go-to-market strategies.

  • Experience developing audience strategies (e.g., understanding and prioritizing potential audiences based on key behaviors/characteristics).

  • Client experiences design & measurement (e.g., using technology to measure and improve the customer experience and translate data into meaningful actions).

  • Experience with SaaS or PLG offerings.

  • Automation or Software networking market experience.

  • Product Management, Technical and/or Technical Sales skills.

The compensation range and benefits for this position are based on a full-time schedule for a full calendar year. The salary will vary depending on your job-related skills, experience and location. Pay increment and frequency of pay will be in accordance with employment classification and applicable laws. For part time roles, your compensation and benefits will be adjusted to reflect your hours. Benefits may be pro-rated for those who start working during the calendar year.
