The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.

Position Summary

Construction Business Initiatives oversees the University Supplier Diversity program. This program enhances communication about contracting and job opportunities, mentors and monitors participation of Columbia-qualified minority-, women- and local (MWL) business enterprises, and provides tracking and reporting services for University obligations and commitments. Construction Business Initiatives is responsible for confirming all new diverse University vendors, offering MWL capacity building programs, and providing some local community services.

Responsibilities

  • Reporting to the Manager, University Supplier Diversity / Columbia University (CU) Grow Program Manager, the Program Coordinator in an administrative role will be responsible for supporting the Columbia Business Initiatives (CBI) Department Access Partnership with Ascend NYC and other capacity building programs to cultivate an inclusive vendor pool.

  • Collaborate with the Manager to coordinate the execution of the Ascend NYC , CU Grow, and other capacity building programs by scheduling meetings, workshops, providing logistics, communication materials, collection of data for CBIs initiatives to ensure programs, meetings, workshops run smoothly, are well-attended, and have a positive impact on their participants.

  • Responsible to serve as a liaison between CBI Access and Partnership with Ascend NYC, CU Grow Program and other capacity building programs. The Program Coordinator will assist in maintaining the business status of participating firms and other key information for programs to ensure accuracy of information and success.

  • Researches and coordinates logistics for programs, meetings, anchor events and other initiatives supporting capacity building programs.

  • Analyzes and supports CBI's vendor utilization data to assist with the preparation of collection efforts, data accuracy, and financial reporting.

  • Maintains and updates website content for CBIs capacity building programs.

  • Liaison between Ascend NY Program and other capacity building programs.

  • Maintain program data and facilitate virtual collaboration.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree, and a minimum of 0- 2 years related experience.

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work well with diverse audiences.

  • Experience in collecting and analyzing data.
