The Amazon Toys & Entertainment team is looking for a leader with proven negotiation and business management and development skills to identify and lead initiatives with our highest impact selling partners. The Principal Vendor Manager will build relationships and influence selling partners to drive revenue, reduce cost-to-serve and transform our customer experience. This highly visible role requires a candidate with proven leadership abilities to facilitate and guide strategic conversations, an entrepreneurial mindset and the ability to influence a diverse set of stakeholders across multiple teams. This candidate has demonstrated analytical capabilities and project management skills, great attention to detail, and the ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task and a proven record of driving category growth.

Using your deep knowledge of the industry and a solution-oriented mindset, you will develop opportunities for Amazon Toys. You will exercise high judgement to identify/evaluate/prioritize initiatives, drive strategy and tactical execution, utilize written/verbal communication at a senior executive level, and evangelize/teach internally and externally. You are an excellent oral and written communicator and you possess an analytical approach to business development, leveraging data to drive decisions. You are highly organized and have the ability to work closely and constructively with cross-functional teams. You 're particularly adept at developing strong, one-to-one relationships at a senior level, and possess a track record of successful negotiations.

Key job responsibilities

• Build trusted relationships with senior leaders inside and outside Amazon

• Identify, prioritize, cultivate and secure new opportunities or new brands

• Negotiate business agreements that will drive new revenue streams and improve profitability

• Develop business and product requirements, and translate those into high quality product roadmaps

• Evangelize and work cross-functionally to set and deliver your vision

• Work closely with others in building support and resources for projects and initiatives.

Basic Qualifications

• 10+ years of vendor management, product or program management, business development or technology experience

• 10+ years of experience developing, negotiating and executing business agreements

• 10+ years of experience leading complex negotiations and multi-year joint business plans with consumer businesses

• Experience engaging and presenting to C-level executives, Business Unit leaders, and Brand/Marketing managers

• Experience driving direction and alignment with cross-functional teams

• Experience using data to influence business decisions

• Bachelor's degree or 10+ years of equivalent work experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience managing P&L

• Experience working in the Toys industry

• MBA

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,300/year in our lowest geographic market up to $214,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
