SUNY Optometry Plant Utilities Engineer 1 in New York, New York

The State University of New York College of Optometry, located at 33 West 42nd Street in Manhattan, is accepting applications for a NYS Department of Civil Service Plant Utilities Engineer 1.Schedule is flexible with evenings, overnights, and weekends.Duties include responsibility for the proper operation of the Facility Equipment including, HVAC system, Perimeter Heating, Plumbing and Water supply, and other components of the college physical plant. Candidate will conduct routine preventive maintenance and respond to service calls for equipment malfunction of comfortable environment. Candidate will operate, maintain, troubleshoot, repair mechanical and electrical equipment as directed or requested through the work order management system. Candidate is required to have working knowledge of computer system and Building Management System. Candidate may be required to supervise subordinate staff as needed and supervise contractors working on site.Hiring Rate for this Grade 14 position is $54,860 and $3,400 location pay. Current NYS employees will receive the hiring rate or a percentage increase in basic annual salary, whichever results in a higher salary.
