About the Role

The Payroll Analyst will ensure bi-weekly payrolls are recorded and allocated in accordance with government contracts, while maintaining strong internal control practices and achieving high-level quality standards. This role will ensure that defined processes and procedures related to time and attendance, payroll support, analytics, etc. are completed timely and consistently. Partner with People and Culture and Programs for payroll verifications and staff allocations, ensuring accuracy and consistency with reporting. Perform monthly gross-to-gross reconciliations.

  • Direct client group across multiple business departments and multiple locations

  • Partner with internal and external groups (auditors, outside agencies, and software applications management).

  • Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure accuracy of payroll records by maintaining payroll database with updated rate changes, tax withholdings, time off accruals and other items affecting payroll.

  • Maintain up to date and approve staff allocations in Intacct prior to uploading payroll to the general ledger.

  • Review and maintenance of weekly time and attendance hours.

  • Perform monthly analysis of payroll as directed.

  • Assist with the preparation and transmission of payroll to ADP.

  • Review ADP generated W-2s for accuracy.

  • Complete gross-to-gross payroll reconciliation for each pay period.

  • Perform quarterly 941 reconciliations.

  • Serve as backup to perform all activities necessary to process the payroll.

  • Seek new ways to enhance efficiency, identify areas for improvement and advise on the best course of action with program and support departments.

  • Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.

  • Attend staff meetings and training courses as required .

  • Interact with ADP as needed.

    Audit

  • Ensure adequate audit trail is maintained .

  • Prepare material for the fiscal year-end audit and well as programmatic audits.

    Job Requirements and Desired Skills

  • BS or BA in Accounting

  • Highly proficient with Enhanced E-Time and ADP Workforce Now

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Intacct preferred.

  • Minimum of 2 years working experience in payroll operations.

  • Industry knowledge of payroll practices, procedures, laws and regulations.

  • Working experience in a non-profit industry is a plus.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment autonomously.

  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, extremely organized, and ability to manage multiple projec ts with strict adherence to deadlines.

  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information .
