Position : Medicaid Accounts Receivable Specialist
Location: New York City, Lower East Side
M-F 9am to 5pm

JOB PURPOSEServe as the Medicaid/Medical Accounts Receivable Specialist. Analyze and report on Medicaid revenue, reconcile cash received and open accounts receivables.
Incorporate accounting principles, practices, and procedures to ensure accurate and timely reporting.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Work with Millin (outsourced Billing Management Provider) to create AR Reports on a monthly basis.
Ensure cash clearing account is monitored and analyzed.
Track claim adjustments and recoupments in Millin system by month and fiscal years.
Provide Finance with a report on a quarterly basis to determine what billable services have not been captured and reason.
Ensure cash is applied properly to open accounts receivable.
Track advances if applicable.
Track adjustments to determine proper revenue for the current fiscal year based on dates of services and prior fiscal year.
Track all rate adjustments to ensure billed and/or received.
Monthly Revenue Reconciliation
Work with AR Specialist to ensure proper cash is recorded.
Investigate denials with Medical Billing Manager.
Track NYS Medicaid Recoupments.
Interact with clinical staff to ensure completion and accuracy of records.
Knowledge of Medicaid Rules Preferred
Prepare ad-hoc reports for budget analysis
Skills:
Strong Excel Skills, emphasis on formulas and data entry, a must.
Ability to work independently in fast paced environment.
Ability to travel: Hybrid schedule - 2-3 days onsite (in office).
Assist with Annual Audit.
Strong Attention to detail, analytical and organizational skills.
Minimum-2 years Associate Degree in accounting/business administration, 4 year degree preferred.
Previous Medicaid, Medicare, and Private Insurance Billing experience required.
Maintain adherence to HIPAA guidelines and regulations.
