Join the Audience Organization group as a senior engineering manager (M2) to drive the evolution of our audience segmentation capabilities enabling customers to create, update, and use segments in Mailchimp. Audience segmentation plays a key role in multi-channel campaigns, marketing automations, and integrating with artificial intelligence capabilities to proactively suggest “smart segments” to our customers.

Audience Organization is on a journey to create a new set of modules and capabilities to serve our customers better, and through this journey we want to uphold the highest operational excellence standards and deliver stellar user experiences.

Intuit Mailchimp is a hybrid workplace, giving employees the opportunity to collaborate in person with team members in our New York office two or more days per week.

What you'll bring

  • 3+ years of experience leading one or more software engineering teams.

  • A minimum of 8 years of hands-on software development experience with a comprehensive understanding of full-stack development. Bonus points for proficiency in data and cloud analytics warehousing (e.g. Redshift).

  • Demonstrated expertise in code quality and delivery management, strategic communication with team and senior leadership, designing and developing large-scale web platforms and microservices in an API-first environment, with an emphasis on operational excellence and customer experiences. Bonus points for experience in the SMB software space (ERPs, eCommerce, etc.).

  • Proven ability to lead change, establish cross-functional collaboration with product management and design, and lead team growth and development through feedback and challenging opportunities.

  • Proven ability to break down barriers and enable teams to work with urgency.

How you will lead

  • Build and evaluate a high-performing team based on Intuit's engineering rubrics. Provide constructive feedback and create career growth plans with team members.

  • Lead operational excellence and deliver highly available, scalable web applications and microservices with exceptional attention to quality, security, and performance metrics.

  • Work closely with cross-functional stakeholders (Product Management, Experience Design, Program management and technical leadership team) to create and implement feasible development plans. This requires you to acquire/have a deep understanding of the technical details and code in the Audience Segmentation domain.

  • Drive the continuous modernization and improvement of our services and their operational and performance metrics within Audience Segmentation.

  • Prioritize and unblock teams to deliver high-value outcomes while keeping transparency over the rationale. Proactively identify blockers to maintain team velocity.

  • Able to learn and navigate a diverse set of languages and technologies we use across our stack, including PHP, Kotlin/Java, Spring Framework, MySQL, Kafka, Data warehouse analytics technologies (Redshift, ElasticSearch, etc.).
