Job Description:

The Product and Strategy Executive is responsible for identifying and managing strategic initiatives designed to support and enhance the positioning of a line of business. Oversees Client and Business Management functions, Strategic Planning, Product Development, Technology initiatives and the Centralized Service Platform. Serves as a liaison to other partners in the bank, including marketing, finance and compliance, in order to drive and implement initiatives. Establishes and maintains performance measures and metrics to ensure execution of business plan. Captures and analyses client data to drive innovative of new wealth management solutions. Ensures that operations are consistent in supporting the client strategy and the broader business strategy.

The ISG Strategy & Transformation Executive is a senior leader within the Investment Solutions Group, responsible for overall business strategy for investment products and platforms. In addition to overall business strategy, a particular focus for this executive is defining and driving strategic transformation and simplification across all wealth management products and platforms to enable a better advisor and client experience, drive business growth, and minimize risk.

This leader will partner closely with each product / platform head and the client journey teams to evaluate and refine the product/platform strategy for each function, build out product roadmaps, create the business case to enable strategic initiatives, and drive transformation to enable a best-in-class suite of products and platforms across Merrill, The Private Bank, and Consumer Investments.

Core responsibilities:

  • Works closely with the head of ISG and the ISG leadership team to continuously evaluate and refine the ISG strategy and priorities and ensure robust communication with the team and key stakeholders (internally and externally)

  • Defines product roadmap development in partnership with product leads and client journey work

  • Evaluates current-state client segmentation framework and leads the development of future state framework to meet business priorities

  • Develops long term strategy and changes for product offerings by client segment- e.g., develops business case and priorities to streamline mass affluent/HNW for UHNW

  • Develops senior executive ready communications and presentations that clearly outline strategic priorities.

  • Leads short- and long-term projects from framing strategic problems to executing analysis, driving insights, developing recommendations and implementation enabled by a small team of project managers.

  • Research relevant industry developments and evaluates marketplace innovation, trends and potential implication

  • Leads initiative planning and prioritization across ISG including Leads ISG capacity and functional review initiatives, leveraging ECOM and other tools to identify opportunities to better utilize talent and capacity

  • Drives prioritization of transformation priorities across partners and channels and gains commitment and alignment

Desired Skills:

  • 15+ years of experience at a strategy consulting firm or strategy function within a large company

  • Bachelor's degree required.

  • Experience in investment products and platforms preferred

  • Highly collaborative and influential leader who can promote change outside of areas of direct influence

  • Strategic thinker who can build business case for change and drive execution of strategic priorities

  • Seamless ability to shift from high level strategy to execution and ownership of outcomes

  • Executive communication skills- ability to build compelling business cases on highly complex/technical topics that are senior executive ready
