The Department of Surgery at the Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons of Columbia University is accepting applications for surgeons to qualify for the ranks of the Instructor, Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Professor. Responsibilities include seeing patients in an outpatient office at one or more of our office locations and on call hospital responsibilities. The scope of practice will include on-call responsibilities and building an outpatient practice.
In addition to clinical duties, the incumbent will teach medical students, residents and fellows. Responsibilities include participation in the academic and research missions of the University and the Department of Surgery.
Salary and academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and credentials. A board-eligible surgeon would be appointed at the Instructor rank until board certied.
Hiring salary range is $94,945 - $125,187 (minimum faculty base for rank). The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. The above hiring range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
MD or DO. Completion of surgical residency and specialty fellowship if applicable. Board certifification or eligibility by the American Board of Surgery or it's equivalent.
