Robert Half Human Resources/Payroll Specialist in New York, New York

Description

Growing New York City firm is currently seeking a Human Resources / Payroll Specialist. Ideal candidate for the Human Resources / Payroll Specialist must have a bachelor's degree and ADP experience. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with our HR department to ensure accurate and timely payroll administration. This position requires a keen understanding of both state and federal regulations related to payroll and a working proficiency with ADP software system.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the payroll system via ADP, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions.

  • Maintain employee records and payroll operations by following policies and procedures.

  • Compile summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, leave, disability, and non-taxable wages and report on this.

  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and answer employee payroll queries.

  • Conduct audits to ensure adherence to compliance standards and internal HR policies.

  • Partner with HR and finance teams to review, analyze, and reconcile payroll data.

  • Prepare relevant weekly, monthly, quarterly, and year-end reports.

  • Attend to any payroll related matters and answer employees' questions and complaints regarding payroll.

  • Implement, maintain, and review payroll processing systems to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions.

    Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, or related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in payroll processing using ADP system.

  • Strong knowledge in legal regulations regarding payroll and general human resources.

  • Exceptional numerical skills and attention to detail.

  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize work.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficiency in ADP

  • Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) certification is a plus.
