Wolters Kluwer HR Business Partner Director in New York, New York

LOCATION: New York City NY (hybrid – 8 days a month in the office)

OVERVIEW

You will be accountable for the performance and results for the human resources business partner function aligned to a line of business. You will be responsible for the Global Business Services Division globally. You will be a strategic human resources business partner providing expertise in leading-edge theories or techniques and guidance to the business on human capital strategy, needs, and decisions.

You will proactively identify and solve the most complex human capital problems that impact the management and direction of the business. You will lead the design, implementation, and monitoring of a variety of human resource programs. You will anticipate and plan for long-term human resource needs and trends in partnership with business management. You will lead multi-disciplinary projects and initiatives with visibility to senior management within the business and across the HR organization and interpret, execute, and recommend modifications to organizational policies.

You will be recognized as expert and thought leader by both internal and external community. Your advice has significant impact on strategic planning and business results. You may also provide leadership and guidance to a small team (1-2) of human resource professionals based on organizational scope, goals, and company direction.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Participate in division business planning and execution of programs; champions an enterprise culture of continuous improvement, ensuring the appropriate talent structure engagement model, performance management and recognition systems are in place to support the strategic objectives of the organization. Requires advanced communication and negotiation skills to modify the beliefs and opinions of important internal and external stakeholders.

  • Provide strategic HR consulting, identifies key workforce challenges and employee and business priorities and is responsible for the development, execution, and management of the Human Capital plan for the business.

  • Accountable for organization development and effectiveness for assigned businesses.

  • Engaging CoE partners as appropriate, responsible to diagnose, identify scope of change and identify scope of change and identify interventions needed to improve organizational effectiveness.

  • Designs future state changes (people, process, and structure), prepares change plans and works with leaders to implement. Drives effectiveness for assigned businesses.

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the Legal and Finance functions. Ability to make quick decisions that mitigate risk but balances with courage to take smart risks based on experience.

  • Coach senior management on complex employee relations and HR issues to include talent/performance goals and HR/talent implications of business decisions.

  • Leverage and translate HR analytics to HR Business Partners, and business leaders regionally/globally, identifying trends, issues and opportunities.

  • Provide leadership to senior managers or executives based on organizational goals and company direction.

QUALIFIC ATIONS

Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business, Industrial Relations, Organizational Development, or related field

Experience:

  • 12+ years of progressive HR experience.

  • Proficiency with HR information systems, preferably Workday and the Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Workers Council and Labor Law experience.

  • People Management Experience.

  • Previous experience working in a matrixed environment.

TRAVEL: May require travel (up to 25%); must be able to obtain and maintain valid travel documentation

Compensation:

Target salary range CA, CT, CO, HI, NY, WA: $182,500-$258,350
