Robert Half Help Desk Analyst in New York, New York

Description

Overview: We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Help Desk Analyst to join our team on a temporary basis. This onsite role requires a professional with over 3 years of experience in IT Service Desk or user support. The ideal candidate will have a robust understanding of both PC and MAC OS, server platforms, and basic networking protocols. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Technical Assistance: Provide support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems, software, and hardware.

  • Diagnostic and Problem Resolution: Respond to queries either in person or over the phone, run diagnostic programs, isolate problems, and determine and implement solutions.

  • Training and Documentation: Write training manuals and train computer users to ensure efficient use of technology.

  • System Maintenance: Maintain the daily performance of computer systems and perform regular clean-ups.

  • Customer Support: Respond to email messages from customers seeking help, ask questions to determine the nature of the problem, and walk customers through problem-solving processes.

  • Installation and Repairs: Install, modify, and repair computer hardware and software. Install computer peripherals for users.

  • Networking: Resolve technical problems with Local Area Networks (LAN), Wide Area Networks (WAN), and other systems.

  • Follow-Up and Feedback: Follow up with customers to ensure issues have been resolved and gather feedback about computer usage.

  • Reporting: Run reports to identify recurring malfunctions and suggest improvements.

    Requirements

Required Skills and Experience:

  • IT Service Desk/User Support: 3+ years of experience in a related field.

  • Operating Systems: Proficiency with PC/MAC OS and server platforms.

  • Applications: Experience with Active Directory, SCCM, Casper, and Windows/MAC desktop applications.

  • Hardware: Experience with desktop computer hardware, printers, and peripherals.

  • Mobile Devices: Proficiency in supporting mobile devices, including Windows, iOS, and Android.

  • Networking: Understanding of basic networking protocols.

  • Communication: Exceptional oral and written communication skills.

Education:

  • A degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field is preferred but not mandatory if accompanied by relevant experience.
