Position Summary:


We have an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Financial Analyst.

In this role, the Financial Analyst (FA) will report to the Post Award Grant Manager on the Research Admin POD #2 Team. The FA is responsible for the monitoring and review of all financial activities and grants management oversight as related to their Principal Investigator Portfolio. This includes, but is not limited to, sponsored projects management, preparation and distribution of financial portfolios for investigators, effort review and reporting, cost transfers, budget and subcontract preparation and set up, and preparation and closeout of grant accounts. The FA will also be responsible for ad-hoc projects.

Job Responsibilities:

    1. Daily financial management of all grant accounts.
    2. Prepare financial portfolios for investigators (financial summary and detailed financial statements with projections).
    3. Review project budgets for newly awarded grants, new budget periods, and subcontract arrangements.
    4. Reallocate and process personnel effort onto and off grant accounts.
    5. Review time and effort allocation with all grant related personnel and assist with effort certification.
    6. Assist with progress report submissions (verification of effort and budget for new budget period)
    7. Assist investigators with all sponsor audits/questions; process and documentation.
    8. Facilitate financial closeout of grant accounts to sponsor.

Minimum Qualifications:


To qualify you must have a Bachelor Degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or related field, with 1-3 years relevant work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Superior communication skills, both written and verbal.
Possess strong customer service and problem solving skill sets.

Preferred Qualifications:


The Financial Analyst will have a comprehensive understanding of research administration with comprehensive knowledge of Uniform Guidance and other research regulatory requirements, specifically the Uniform Administrative Requirements, Cost Principles and Audit Requirements for Federal Awards. Experience with PeopleSoft preferred.

NYU Langone Health provides a salary range to comply with the New York state Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $62,400.00 - $69,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, specialty, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
